Welcome to our new staff in maternity We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Joanne Hayward as head of midwifery. Joanne has over 25 years of healthcare experience and qualified as a midwife in 1997. As head of midwifery, Joanne will be responsible for implementing the recommendations from Better Births, the national strategy that will shape the maternity services of the future. Joanne said: “I am delighted to be joining the dedicated and hardworking staff at NDHT at what is a challenging but exciting time for the maternity service.” We have also welcomed three new consultants in obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G), who are working at NDHT and RD&E in shared roles, working across both sites.

These consultants bring additional expertise in outpatient hysteroscopy, fertility services (with enhanced links to Exeter), governance and teaching/simulation to NDHT.
