Cane Rush Application Locative Media and iBeacons DESCRIPTION
Designed spaces immerse people in an experience that reflects collective history, culture, and values. Using locative media, and in particular, beacons, allows for the curation of an experience that is site-specific within a public space. These themes are presented in Cane Rush, a project which explores and shares a hidden narrative on The Ohio State University’s campus. All decisions in this project were strongly influenced by considering the user experience and by the understanding that the user is a stakeholder in our design activities. Collaboration was also a feature of the project. ‘Cane Rush App’ was a partnership with Madison Sabatelli.
