ASSOCIATIONS & ORGANIZATIONS Eel River Freemasons Eel River Empire Lodge #147 was founded in 1861. The mission of the lodge is to encourage personal growth and improve the lives of others, guided by the principles of their fraternity: Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. Meetings are the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm. For more information, please call (707) 7252335. Fortuna Garden Club The Garden Club is dedicated to beautifying Fortuna. They have sponsored parade floats, hosted tea parties, assisted victims of the 1964 flood, put in landscaping at the River Lodge, City Hall, and the Fortuna Chamber, held garden contests, and organized Junior and High School gardening programs. Their volunteers lovingly maintain all of the flower beds in Downtown, host potlucks and picnics, put on the Annual Daffodil Show and Holiday Home Tour and Tea, plant trees on Arbor Day, and much more! The Fortuna Garden Club meets at 1:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month at the Monday Club, 610 Main Street.
