DE-CLUTTER Walk through your home room by room. Remember that less is always more as it allows prospective buyers to visualize their own belongings in your home. Donate, consign and remove what you don't use. Minimize furniture and accessories and organize cabinets, closets and drawers. Make sure you store family photos and other personal items.
CLEAN A fresh-smelling and clean interior greatly enhances a home's appeal. We can't emphasize this enough. Do a thorough deep-clean, top to bottom and have carpets and/or upholstery shampooed as needed. Consider room fresheners, candles and soaps; nothing says "welcome" like a sparkling, clean home.
REPAIR A home should be well-maintained and in tip-top condition. Prospective buyers make assumptions based on a home's perceived level of care. If one item is not in good working order, buyers may wonder what else has been neglected. Rule: If it is broken, repair it, as it will pay dividends.
