Luis Jimenez was born in Muleros, Durango circa 1818. On 30 October 1836, in Suchil, Durango, he married Damacia de la Cruz, the daughter of Marcelo de la Cruz and Maria Fernanda Flores. They were both 18 years old. Luis and Damacia had eight children: Remijia, Blasa de Refugio, Lucia, Florencio del Refugio, Dominga, Juan, Salome, and Carlos.
