Paulin Jimenez lived in the village of Muleros, Durango. Muleros began as a ranch named for the farmers who cared for the mules there. Over a hundred years later, Muleros became the head of the municipality and both were renamed Vicente Guerrero, after the famous general of the Mexican War of Independence.
