The Instructional Model is based on the MACS Vision for Instruction Explicit Instruction Sequence.
The Explicit Instruction Sequence has a solid evidence base to support its effectiveness. The Explicit Instruction Sequence is most effective where the objective is to master a body of knowledge or key skill involving clearly laid out steps which the students are expected to apply later.
As a result, some of the strategies suggested may not be effective in certain situations. Therefore, as with any educational strategy, it is down to the professional judgement of the teacher to decide how and when to apply them within the classroom.
