Delve into the Middle Ages
”The last wild one“
Discover the castle
”A knight‘s tale“ in the museum, a museum where touching isn‘t frowned upon, adults and children can get an exciting glimpse of the age of knights and damsels.
The Lech River all the way to Füssen is one-of-a-kind! It‘s the last wild river in the northern alpine region and as an alpine wild river is still allowed to do for long stretches what every mountain river once could – spreading out and charting its own course using its own power. Arms of the river branch off and reunite. Rocks from the tributary valleys become mighty gravel banks and bars. The only constant with the Lech River until Füssen is constant change. Vast riparian forests, clear outlet lakes and the mountains of the Allgäu and Lechtal Alps are among the most scenic and primeval landcsape areas in the Alps. Join in and immerse yourself into the realm of the ”last wild one“ – that‘s possible in the nature exhibition ”The last wild one“. At various stations, visitors can explore the last wild river landscape in the Northern Alps. The Tyrolean Lech River is unique – see for yourself!

Tiroler Lech Nature Park
‘Im Grünen Haus’
Animal Tracks Hike
Snow-covered forests, frozen waters and sparkling snow stars make for a grand and peaceful atmosphere in winter. During this time of year, nature seems sleepy, stark and seclusive. How do the animals get through winter? Which animals are active, which hibernate during the cold season? Together with a nature park guide, we go in search of animal tracks.
The Grünes Haus museum is located in Reutten‘s Untermarkt area. The exhibition area which spans around 300 m2 provides information about the chequered history of the market town of Reutte. Salt trading and the development of the town are themes too, as is the history of the Franciscan Monastery. The famous family of painters, the Zeillers, is shown in precious images. One particular highlight are the works by Anna Stainer- Knittel, better known as the ”Geierwally“. Did you know that Reutte is also on the moon? You can find out how that came about in the museum too.
Minimum number of participants: 4 persons Registration: the day before until 4:00 p.m. in the Reutte Tourist Office, Tel.: +43 (0)5672 - 62336 Meeting point: 2:00 p.m. at the parking lot of the municipal timber yard Wängle (towards Holz, take left before Hotel Lechlife) Equipment: Sturdy shoes, warm clothing, gloves
Free of charge: Entry to the museum Opening hours: Tues – Sat 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Contact: Tel.: +43 (0)5672 - 72304 6600 Reutte Untermarkt 25 www.museum-reutte.at email@example.com
