Emotional Balance Workshop at Hartford Family Institute

S

tuart Alpert and Naomi Lubin-Alpert are two of the founding partners of Hartford Family Institute (HFI) and the co-creators of In-Depth Body Psychotherapy and Subtle Energy Healing. On January 9-11 in Chester, Connecticut, they will offer a workshop on dealing with particular emotional, relationship, physical, mental and spiritual issues. In addition, therapists and healers who attend will come away with a deeper understanding of the transformation process for their clients. In-depth psychotherapy incorporates the understanding of the molecular structure of emotional issues as well as understanding how these issues can lead to physical illness. Alpert and Lubin-Alpert will guide participants to the center of their experiences, which generally leads them to leave the workshop feeling more balanced, alive and clear. “We all receive messages from our spirit that let us know when we are out of balance. Emotional, physical and relationship problems are such messages,” states Lubin-Alpert. “Coming home to our deepest place of self-acceptance contributes to a life that embraces health, passion and centered living.” Workshop cost is $750 which includes tuition, room and board. For more information, visit HartfordFamilyInstitute. com or call 860-236-6009. Hartford Family Institute is located at 17 South Highland St., West Hartford, CT. See ad on inside front cover.

Connecticut Coffee Roaster Explores ‘The Journey of Coffee’

N

ew Haven, Connecticut, coffee roaster Eric Ciolino of One World Roasters, shares his “mountain to cup” knowledge in a tasting and information session on January 17 at Yale University’s Marsh Botanical Garden within one of the tropical greenhouses. “For me it’s about bringing the story of coffee to the people, and what better place to taste the coffee and see the actual coffee plant than here,” says Ciolino. Ciolino, who frequently travels to coffee-producing regions of the world, will be featuring his Dominican roast at the tasting. The beans hail from Spirit Mountain, one of his many organic coffee providers, which he visited last February. The event is a collaboration between Ciolino and Eric Larson, manager of the Marsh Botanical Garden. “Our mission statement has to do with support of research, support of instruction, and outreach in the maintenance of green space. Yale tries to be a good neighbor to New Haven, so it’s part of that effort to give back to the community, and that’s why we make it available for things like this,” Larson says.
