Hundreds of service and community members from Naval Air Station (NAS) Sigonella gathered at NAS I for Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Sigonella's annual Red, White, & BOOM Fourth of July celebration, July 5. orale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Sigonella hosted their annual Red, White, and BOOM celebration at Midtown on NAS I, July 5. Sigonella community members gathered in the Midtown parking lot to enjoy some fun, food, and entertainment during the annual Independence Day celebration. The event kicked off at Splasher’s pool with a cardboard boat regatta. The regatta featured two-person teams in homemade cardboard boats racing two laps in the pool. The rest of the day’s activities then

music trio of “Scarletta,” who made stops in Europe this 4th of July to entertain troops overseas. Prior to the concert, Scarletta signed autographs for their fans in the Midtown atrium. Throughout the day there was entertainment for the kids with the usual bouncy house and inflatable slides. Many organizations were also on-hand cooking up plenty of food for everyone. moved out to Midtown with Club Beyond’s choir and chapel musicians kicking things off with the singing of the American and Italian national anthems, followed by several patriotic songs, including the Battle Hymn of the Republic. There was the John Lenze variety show, featuring a cow milking contest in which participants had to get as much milk as they could from the “cow” within a couple minutes. Of course, no Sigonella festival would be complete without a cornhole tournament. Musical entertainment featured the local band “Back to Dance” and the country
