L&A County celebrates 150th in style 3,000 people attend show on court house grounds BY SETH DUCHENE Editor
For its 150th birthday, Lennox and Addington County put on a party to remember. An estimated 3,000 people gathered on the rear lawn of the county court house on Saturday night for the county’s sesquicentennial celebration. “It really exceeded our expectations,” said Stephen Paul, Community and Development Services Director for L&A. “The weather cleared and all the performances were top rate.” He said that the estimate was just that, an estimate, given that the event was free and there were no tickets sold to help track attendance. The celebration featured a local flavour as well. The show was kicked off with a few songs by Napanee’s Kim Pollard band; David Archibald, Sam and Emma McNichols and Dallas Daisey also took to the stage. mention of the fact that the county had just completed its renovation of the museum and archives. “The completion of this major project, in recognition of our milestone anniversary, will ensure that the heritage of our county community will be preserved and accessible for future generations,” he said. “On L&A’s 150th anniversary,
