I’m a fourth-year student studying design at Colorado State University. I am fascinated by architecture’s impact on both our mental and physical well-being. We spend over 90% of our time inside, so how we perceive our space is of great importance

For my 3rd year Studio, we were given the challenge to create an entry for the 10th Annual Steelcase Next Student Design Competition; to design and create a Tech Hub for a fictitious home robotics company. The prompt was to produce a fluid space to adhere to a hybrid, highly technological work environment that supports all modes of work The project site laid in the Seaport District of Boston, MA, and occupied 12,000 SF. Along with the workplace, we were encouraged to create and apply our own concept, logo, and brand identity for the NEXT company

Oysters, a Boston delicacy, inspire this projects design. Symbolizing potential, the world is NEXT's oyster within this space. "Lines of growth" decorate an oyster's exterior shell, as displayed on the logo. This serves as a manifestation for the growth that will occur in the company's years to come NEXT aims to create a space that secures a feeling of inclusivity to all users, supports a variety of work modes, and embodies a hybrid work environment Users should feel the potential for the company's growth bound to occur Eco-friendly materials, and biophilia is to be omnipresent. Fluidity within the space, highly smart technologies, and rejuvenating spaces are included throughout.

With closer proximity in the workplace, collaboration is increased between workers. In addition, collaborations provide both a cost-effective and better sense of collegial ties in the office. (Greer, 1998).
The perceived quality of an office has been proven to influence individuals' creativity via mood. The inclusion of plants in the workplace affects users' positivity and creativity. (Shibata and Suzuki, 2004). Outdoor views available through windows increase people's creative task performance. (Shibata and Suzuki, 2002).

Foster a sense of community and belonging through communal spaces, such as the garden and shared living spaces.
The Big Island of Hawaii is dealing with an economic crisis, housing affordability issues, and the displacement of Native Hawaiians. Due to the pandemic, tourism significantly decreased, leaving many residents without jobs or income Housing affordability is a growing concern, and Native Hawaiians are losing their homes and ancestral lands to development and gentrification.

In the Fall of 2022, I was assigned in my Studio lll to research and design a refugee environment. Per the IDEC Student Design Competition, the space was to be a maximum of 500 SF Small groups or a single refugee would occupy the home. The environment was to be a safe haven for our researched refugee of choice, designed from necessity The site's location was left for us to choose from, and we were told to create a narrative depicting a small group of refugees and their journey. Raegan Hayes and Miyu Pu were my team members in this competition.
Spain and Morocco's relations have been strained for centuries To this day, many Spaniards hold a superiority complex against Moroccans The two countries connect through the Mediterranean, where the Islands lie A haven for migrants to land embraced with open arms. The opposite of prejudice; is unity. Younger men are the majority of our migrants, and space for four refugees is maximized by: stacked beds, a hidden laundry room, and a separate bathroom for convenience. A Spanish island adobe exterior is cost-effectively made with clay and sand Interior finishes serve Mediterranean-themed blues and whites, touches of Moroccan rugs, and basketweaved furnishings
The course of Interior Design and Architecture technologies gave us the challenge of creating a small wellness home, made of geopolymer modular panels We interacted with the company whom it was for, known as Modern Habitat Tech. The goal of these homes is to offer affordable housing in response to the national shortage of such homes The site was to lie in Fort Collins, CO, and exist under 500 square feet. Along with the tiny home, we were to create two optional layouts: one ADA compliant and another non-ADA compliant. As well, the single units were to be massed in a practical way for the client to view My group members in this project were Koa Kampovitz, Alex Mezzetti, and Grace Johnson.
Comes to play within the interior space by having it set up as a studio. Minimal walls allow for the space to play off and be connected with one another
