youth programs Lock In for Kids
Sponsored by Domino’s Pizza Parents have a night to yourselves while your kids have a sleep-over with their friends! Stay locked in at the Nampa Rec Center all night and enjoy movies, swimming, games and a pizza party. A male and female supervisor will be with the children all night. Children should bring a sleeping bag, swim suit, towel and clothes to sleep in. Lock in Guidelines • Parents or legal guardian must register child(ren) for the event. • Children must check-in with staff upon arrival. • Register by 7pm the day before the event to avoid a $5 late fee. • Children must be picked up between 8:30-9am the next morning. • $5 late fee applies each 1/2 hour after 9:05am.
LEGO® Engineering Class
Children will build and explore, gearing mechanisms and motorized machines, calibrate and capture wind, as well as experiment with balanced and unbalanced forces and friction. Activities include Lego cranes, ratchet fishing poles to go Lego fishing and a gear changing racecar. Stop Motion Animation Lego Camp
Come create and build your own mini movie set out of Legos and learn how to imagine, write, direct and star in your very own Lego animated movie! Children will use iPads, iPods, and computers to make that perfect animated movie with complete editing capabilities, effects, music and narration. American Red Cross Babysitter Training
In this one day class learn information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents and guardians. Course includes handbook, Emergency Reference Guide and CD with fun activities and support resources. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Red Cross Babysitter Training Ages 11-15 January 27 March 24 April 28 9am-3pm Nampa Rec Center Member $45, Non-Member $50
