The event was rounded off with much socialising after a well enjoyed munchies. Thanks to Supatronix for their sponsorship and looking forward to next year's competition with much gusto.
They were joined by Johan van der Westhuizen and Bernie Grobler of Namibia Wine Merchants, distributors of the Beyerskloof brand in Namibia. 48 players entered the competition and before T-off each player received a bottle of Beyerskloof pinotage wine from the sponsors. The weather played
along nicely and good scores were achieved. Dean Kock and Deville Dreyer started very well with both of them carding 22 points on the first nine. Wayne Hart and Herman Neethling were not that far behind at the turn. On the second nine Herman Neethling, Pikkie Champion and Quinten van Wyk scored 22 points to
chase the first nine hole leaders. Charl Maschke played with borrowed clubs of Heinie Franken and found Walvis Bay course not that easy especially when he realized that Heinie plays left handed, but his lower clubs are all right handed. Charl could not figure out how to play the wedges right handed and
scored a total of 7 points on the day, earning him the wooden spoon or in this case the “wine glass”. Winners of the day: 1st Dean Kock 40 on c/o, 2nd Deville Dreyer 40/co, 3rd Wayne Hart 40, 4th Pikkie Champion 39 c/o, 5th Quinten van Wyk 39c/o, 6th Peet Poggenpoel 39. Continues on Page 31
