Pipe rupture plays havoc in Ocean View A burst pipe on the corner of Ametis and Saphir Street in Swakopmund early yesterday morning caused absolute mayhem. Some residents leaving for work got stuck in the mud and had to be towed out, while a room of a guesthouse down the road was flooded. According to some residents, the pipe burst sometime after midnight. It was reported to the municipality at about 5:00 in the morning. When namib times visited the scene the road was closed and an utter mess. Some residents were busy shovelling sand from their driveways while others made small sand walls to redirect the water flow. Jasson Green A bit off the subject , but a drain pipe leaked/broke and quite a bit of stinking water was gathering at DIVOT Close (Next to Walvis Bay Golf Course ) this morning at around 9PM , I phoned the W/Bay Municipality at least 6 times , NO ANSWER +264 2013111 Boetie Katjito Dis onse Namib Times hoor Heiko Fleidl It's actually Hage Heights not Ocean View.

Clearing agents of import vehicles take note days of lawlessness over The municipal traffic department in Walvis Bay launched operation clean-up this week, to rid the town of the ongoing menace of imported vehicles abandoned in the town's streets and neighbourhoods. Samuel Shoopala The title is an insult towards the men and women who ensures there's a relationship between traders and government administrators, and the whole action is illegal. When you are in charge of a border town, you need to avail land for all abandoned goods including vehicles. That land need to be controlled or managed by a Customs administration or an independent party through a

PPP. Therefore, even after years of having taken these vehicles from the road, the municipality cannot auction them for two simple reasons; 1. In most cases these vehicles are older than the legally acceptable imports into Namibia. 2. The municipality does not have the mandate to auction goods in transit, because they are still under Customs control. James Daniel Parkin Love it! We gotta protect

Baby number 3 surprises mom and dad Jetlien Noabes, a resident of Swakopmund gave birth to three beautiful babies on Sunday morning after a long wait of nine months, but she says baby number three surprised her a lot. Not only the fact that it was a girl, but because Jelien only expected twins and not a triplet. Makoka Nielsen Uainaua ''All this time I was expecting to give birth to two babies only, because that is what the sonar showed us, only two babies and when baby number three came I was surprised said Jetlien'' How come the Sonar didn't detect (see) the 3rd baby of that size, it basically implies that that sonar can't even detect a Tumour at its initial stage, our health system tho, Rachel Amor WokEndola True July Alby Nghaamwa It happened to many Ya Shomeya But why July alby nghaamwa Kretta Naasohoni Complicated surely.Even if you were carrying a stone for nine months that might be a problem to your life, Sonars aae. But blessings to the family of Blessing that ka-last born Anna-Etuhole Nicodemus I bet you if she was getting private antenatal care, they would have picked it up. It's not just the pictures you look at! So the doctor couldn't make out the THREE heartbeats? Khlo Letha Sometimes the baby is soo small it hides behind the two....u will be surprised , I know of a person with Private medical care all the time she thought one baby, come delivery doctor was shocked as well...and she wasn't even HEEAVY to indicate twins Betty Mateu Those state sonars ar unable to detect even twins sometimes. Azille Wesche you should see the swk state hsptl sonar from 1901!!!!! you can't see anything they can jist throw away that thing!!!!

8 year old run over An 8 year old girl was hit by a car on Wednesday after she attempted to cross the road near the 'Welcome to Walvis Bay' sign. It is not yet clear what caused the incident, but it is believed that the young child did not pay full attention to oncoming vehicles and found herself in the way of a vehicle travelling from Swakopmund. She sustained a fracture to her left leg and is receiving medical attention at Cottage Medi-Clinic in Swakopmund. A case of reckless or negligent driving has been opened against the driver. Gielie Lambrechts Sad that this accident has happened AND oh so true re reckless driving. It's a 60 zone....drive 60 and all sorts of vehicles overtake one on the double barrier lines. BUT some children have no respect for traffic as well. They run across even if one is close or walk to the middle and stand there. The zebra crossing has been removed, painted black, but some children still cross the road at that spot AND some dumb assess even stop there to let children cross. SOLUTION: two or three tunnels and close the road off on the sides. Muriel RiRi Negongo Can the municipality perhaps introduce a series of humps, 20-30m stretch or even more Carola Krämer please also teach the schoolkids to stop at a zebra crossing before crossing it I'm amazed nothing has happened so far at the Vineta Circle near Cashbuild some drivers ignore the crossing Louw Greeff That area will see many more lives lost. Let me guess they want to make that a 40zone too? Typical, problem is not the motorists but the pedestrians. Ever heard of a tunnle..
