You are not above the law It was recently discovered that certain motorists do not abide by the rules and regulations regarding the traffic light at the Walvis Bay Primary Schools zebra stripes, which could have serious consequences.
Harald Blum Stricter regulations should be enforced at that light, even kids standing there, and playing with the same traffic lights, activating same light to just disrupt the traffic, should be punished just as hard, to the full extend of the law, as they cause a lot of anger, especially in peak hour traffic. Namibians to have a say over possible time change An official letter is circulating in the public domain since mid January this year of the Ministry of Immigration and Border Control, as the custodians of the Time Act (Act 3 of 1994)”, requesting for inputs from the public to determine whether there is rationale to do away with what Namibians know for the past 22 years as winter time. Roelene Henning We lose four hours a day of bussiness with SA a day. This really is bad for my company specifically. Personally, it is also better to get the kids home while there still is some light left. Peter Odendaal B.....! Business is done by the internet these days! Roelene Henning Not mine. Anthea Van Wyk I feel the time shuld stay as it is now. It is really much better cause then u kinda have some "time" left to do certain things like washing clothes, cleaning, etc when u get home... As when its dark u are tired and cannot do all that stuff. Mariette Brand Whoohoooo! about TIME! in vandag se tyd kan jy nie eers na donker jou kop by die ruit uit sit dan word

Shaun James Loots The time change was for the school children. but its not good for business and most people go home when its dark...very dangerous too as for the ongoing crime rate!! We went ti school early before...no stress, and got home early, safely! Peter Odendaal Yes and schools spent a lot on lighting or did you forget? Shaun James Loots No didnt forget...the classrooms always had lights on all day. makes no difference....I am refering to people going home in the dark...during ongoing crime rate. etc. Cheryl Booysen Can't the schools start later?? Anél Brink It doesnt place us 1 hour ahead of SA time, we are one hour behind. Peter Odendaal There is no argument! Namibia is in the wrong time zone geographically! Japie de Jager Please keep it on par with RSA. DO NOT CHANGE TO .... "WIN-TER TIME"! Peter Odendaal Its the summer time that must change as we are geographically in the wrong time zone! Lee-dia Hope Mungolo Summertime only thank u.

Since long together with a close friend of mine we are trying to put together a report on the development of motor vehicle registration plates and systems in Namibia since the start in the beginning of the 20th century, and thanks to the permanent support by Mrs Trudi Stols and others we have been able to advance quite well including official data like the first proclamation of 1919 and old pictures. However, there are still a few enigmas, and one of them refers to the creation of the “Sd” identification mark on the registration plates. Maybe some reader of your newspaper has the answer. Registration of motor vehicles did not start in Namibia (at that time South West Africa) until 1919. Every magisterial district got its individual identification mark like "B” for Bethanië, “L” for Lüderitz or “W” for Windhoek, and “S” would logically have been assigned to Swakopmund, but NO ! Swakopmund started using “Sd”, which was in use until 1968 – why “Sd” and not just “S” ? Would it be possible to put this question to your readers ? We would like to get in contact with anybody, who might be interested in our research. Best regards from a today quite chilly but sunny Barcelona (+9º) and thanks in advance for your attention. Bernt Larsson PS. You may ask Mrs. Trudi Stols for more details about our research work. BL
