Henry on the go with life coaching Liesl Losper Henry Johns (22), who was sentenced to a one year term of imprisonment in April 2015 in the Walvis Bay Magistrate court on a charge of house breaking and theft, used this experience to help others to their benefit. He decided to form a group, know n as Identify, Challenge and Eliminate Reform (ICE), with his fellow inmates and they would sit and talk about their problems, their experiences in prison and shared views and opinions on their living conditions in prison. The class focused more on issues around
domestic violence, gender based violence, alcohol abuse and many other topics which are some of the reasons why people end up in prison. Henry attended a three week training course. He also started classes now at the !Nara Primary School for those that cannot write and to teach them other skills that will help them to
create employment for themselves. He is also in the process to start a group that will be cleaning the town three times per month. He urged the public to assist where ever they can be it with stationery for the class, assistance in teaching and also to join the cleaning project. He can be contacted on 0818054732.
High School Tamariskia Class of 1984 Reunion Liesl Losper
The Class of 1984 held their reunion over the past weekend. The Fun Day at the beach allowed the class to mend their bonds and reminisce on their matric year. The weekend-long reunion was formally opened at the school on Friday, with a dinner on Saturday night and it was ended with a breakfast on Sunday morning. The highlight of the weekend was that four of their high school teachers were fortunate enough to attend the event. The class says it was an honour to be
once more in the presence of their teachers and former classmates. To celebrate their reunion, the class planted two trees on the school grounds. Numerous buckets of paint were donated to the school by 'OB Davids Properties. They also thanked the traffic department for their assistance. Everybody said they hope to see each other once more and recelebrate another exquisite reunion of the Class of 1984.
