About NaariSamata
From a humble passion project in 2021, NaariSamata has flourished into a formidable force, piquing the interest of numerous volunteers and donors. Currently, we have a dedicated team consisting of 5 trustees, 5 advisors, 12 volunteers, 3 interns, and 5 youth group members, all working towards our shared mission.
We take pride in our ongoing projects such as Project Ujaala (Light), Project Unnati (Progress), Project Annaseva (Mid-Day Meals), Project Muskaan (Smile), Project Paalan (Sponsor a Girl), Project Siksha (Education), and Project Silan (FGM Safehouse). These projects not only address critical issues but also inspire and empower individuals, making a meaningful impact on society.
We are grateful for the support and collaboration of the Stanley Group Foundation, which has been instrumental in fueling our growth and success.

The Silan Project
The Silan project in Kenya, is helping to build a transitional shelter to provide protection against and recovery for girls rescued from female genital mutilation FGM is usually a precursor to forced early marriage and pregnancy in Maasai culture.
Gender discrimination is recognized as the number one cause of persistent poverty among the Maasai, causing a higher than average rate of illiteracy, as well as preventing economic development. Government reports also attribute illiteracy among women as the primary cause of malnutrition and poor health
NaariSamata helped fund the first phase of the project to build and safehouse.
More than 200 million girls and women alive today have undergone FGM in 30 countries in Africa, the Middle East and Asia where FGM is practiced

Project Paalan
Sponsor a girl and see her flourish
NaariSamata has funded the education of 'Covid Orphans' and catered to their living expenses in Uttarkhand to temporarily help them tide over the crisis. This made us realise we had donors who are keen to help girls get education that they would otherwise not have access to, and give them the opportunity to be the person they were meant to be.
Project Paalan, our sponsor a girl project is a project that resonates not just with us, but with our donors.
We are in the process of contacting reputable charities in India to seek out girls who are at the risk of being taken out of school due to financial constraints We will provide the funds for their fees and other school needs. The sponsors will get updates from the sponsored child and can be a mentor to these girls. This will also expand the aspirations of these children when they see their sponsors and they start to think beyond their village, their state, their country and believe they can conquer the world. We will be updating our Project Paalan page on our website over the next 2 weeks.
