PROJECT: MAKE A SUCCULENT CHRISTMAS TREE WHAT YOU WILL NEED: • Between 35 and 40 succulent clippings – choose plants in varying sizes • Sphagnum moss • Wire cutters • Floral wires • U-shaped retaining pins
tip! Don’t use fresh succulents. Once cut, allow them to dry for a couple of days to prevent rotten stem.
METHOD Step 1: Shape the wire into your Christmas tree. Step 2: Wet the moss slightly and fill the wire frame with the material. Take care to squeeze out any extra liquid from the moss. Step 3: Remove the bottom leaves from the dry succulents so that the stem is easily accessible. Step 4: Using the pins, secure the succulent cuttings to the moss. Place bigger succulents at the bottom and work your way up the cone shape. Step 5: Fill in any gaps with small leaves, baubles or other decorations.
