PROJECT: MAKE A SUCCULENT CHRISTMAS TREE

WHAT YOU WILL NEED: • Between 35 and 40 succulent clippings – choose plants in varying sizes • Sphagnum moss • Wire cutters • Floral wires • U-shaped retaining pins

METHOD Step 1: Shape the wire into your Christmas tree. Step 2: Wet the moss slightly and fill the wire frame with the material. Take care to squeeze out any extra liquid from the moss. Step 3: Remove the bottom leaves from the dry succulents so that the stem is easily accessible. Step 4: Using the pins, secure the succulent cuttings to the moss. Place bigger succulents at the bottom and work your way up the cone shape. Step 5: Fill in any gaps with small leaves, baubles or other decorations.

tip!

Don’t use fresh succulents. Once cut, allow them to dry for a couple of days to prevent rotten stem.

CITRUS SCENTS Preheat your oven to 95 degrees. Choose your favourite citrus flavours – lime, lemon, orange and blood orange are our picks. Thinly and evenly slice the fruit and spread on a lined oven tray. Bake for two hours, remove tray and flip fruit. Bake for another two hours. Once cooled, line your glass candle jars with fruit slices. Not only does it look pretty, but it will fill your home with a beautiful scent.
