The 2014 Baby Kid Expo is fun for the whole family! By Shelly Schneider Free fun for the entire family! The 8th Annual Baby Kid Expo will be held from 9am-4 pm on Saturday, May 10 at the St. Charles Convention Center, 1 Convention Center Plaza. The Baby Kid Expo is the largest annual event held in the metro St. Louis area specially designed to provide parents with a fun trade show atmosphere, while kids enjoy a day filled with entertaining fun. More than 100 businesses will be on hand with information and resources for parents. Imagine, all kinds of information and products designed for families looking for recreation, education, health, camps, finance and unique items. Barnes Jewish St. Peters Hospital and Children’s at Progress West will share the importance of exercise with Fit and Fun, and they’ll even include a great take-home item to help get your family moving in the right direction. BJC Outreach will be on the main stage at 1:40pm with a special message about bullying. Baby Kid Expo coordinator Heather Deatz said the maternity fashion show is new for 2014. “9 Months in Style will present amazing summer fashions that appeal to your fashion sense and your need for comfort,” she said. “While here, be sure to stop by for a 3D ultrasound! They will be available on-site for a fee throughout the Expo. These amazing images are perfect for your baby book.” Serengeti Steve and his reptile friends
will be at the Baby Kid Expo at 1pm., sponsored by Midwest Mortgage Capital, and children will be able to interact with the animals. One of the Baby Kid Expo’s most popular events is the Diaper Derby, sponsored by Sprout and About. Babies ages 9-14 months will race for great prizes. Register your little crawler on the Baby Kid Expo website. Would you like to learn about drugfree alternatives to handling ADHD? Join Dr. Shafaie from St. Louis Neurotherapy at 11:30am, and learn a drugfree approach to helping children who struggle with ADHD symptoms. Children’s Hospital will be on hand with Safety Street, an interactive exhibit that teaches children about stranger danger, safely crossing streets, and much more. MoChip will be at the Baby Kid Expo, gathering vital information and burning it to a CD for parents. In the event of the unthinkable, time is of the essence. What else will you see and be able to do at the Baby Kid Expo? How about visiting with Dora and Diego, animals at the petting zoo, pony rides, train rides and the Upper Limits rock wall? The juggling show and the Muny Kids will entertain young and old alike, and the St. Charles City County Library District will offer story time.
