The Greater North County Chamber of Commerce Business Showcase and Taste of North County set for March 21 By Sara Hardin The 27th Annual Greater North County Chamber of Commerce Business Showcase and Taste of North County will be taking place this Saturday, March 21 at the James J. Eagan Center in Florissant. The Business Showcase provides an excellent opportunity for businesses in the North County area to share information about services and products that they provide with people in the community. For no cost, attendees can visit 60 different vendor booths and interact with North County business owners. For only $5, those who attend can also take part in the Taste of North County and sample dishes from 12 different restaurants in the area. Elizabeth Wade and Dhari Pearson are the co-chairs of this year’s business showcase, and are optimistic about the opportunities that it will provide for both the event’s attendees and the businesses themselves. “Businesses in this community have a wonderful opportunity to meet members of the community and hopefully gain new business,” said Wade. “The past couple of years have been very successful for our businesses that have participated in the showcase. It’s just a great event, and it only costs businesses $95. For $95 they’re advertising to over 1,000 people of the community that are coming to the event. The showcase allows owners from a large variety of businesses to connect with members of the community. Anything
from restaurants and shops to schools, banks and accountants will be present at the showcase ready to answer questions and provide information about their services. “We have 60 venders that want to get out in the community to display their products and build relationships with the people that live around them and that are potential clients,” said Pearson. “It’s a very low cost to the businesses to get great exposure; it is a rare opportunity to get exposed to that large of a potential customer base. Many residents don’t know what kind of businesses are in their community, and it gives them an opportunity to get out and take a look at the different businesses for no cost.” There will be a number of new businesses participating in the showcase, along with restaurants that are new to the area that will be providing samples of their products in the Taste of North County, such as Sweetie Pies Kitchen and Phat Boys BBQ. With 12 different restaurants to scour and sample, the Taste comes at a great value. “We’re going to have 12 great restaurants with a variety of different foods,”

School said Wade. “It’ll fill you up for just $5” Kids are also welcome at the event, and various activities and games will be available for their entertainment. “We will have a kids’ room that is sponsored by Ferguson-Florissant School District, and there will be balloon artists, face painting, coloring books and games for the children,” explained Wade. The event will be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Admission for the Taste is $5 for adults and $2 for children 10-and-under. If you are looking to gain knowledge about valuable resources in your area and fill up on some delicious food at a low cost, then the showcase is the right place for you. “It is a wonderful event to attend for such a low cost,” said Wade. “It’s a great way to get information about people here in the community that would be excellent resources for whatever it is you may need.”
