We’re thrilled to welcome a record-breaking 1,805 winter youth travel teams from over 170 Minnesota Youth Basketball Alliance member associations to the season’s most anticipated event!
The 35th annual Grade State Basketball Championship isn’t just Minnesota’s largest youth basketball tournament it’s one of the biggest in the nation. This event has inspired generations of players, coaches, and communities, showcasing the best of Minnesota basketball and its lasting impact at every level.

A huge THANK YOU to our MYBA leaders, volunteer coaches, parents, and supporters. Your dedication fuels the continued growth of youth basketball, ensuring that every child regardless of skill level has the chance to play, improve, and love the game.
Our MYAS staff, tournament directors, dedicated host groups, officials assignors’, game officials, and EMTs have worked tirelessly to make this event safe, organized, and unforgettable. For the sixth straight year, MYAS is proud to partner with Youth 1st to promote sportsmanship before, during, and after every game. A Conduct 1st environment will be upheld at every venue, and we look forward to honoring teams with the Youth 1st Team Award for outstanding sportsmanship.
As 678 girls’ teams & 1,127 boys’ teams chase the coveted Grade State title, we remind everyone that youth sports are about more than winning. This journey is about growth, respect, teamwork, and moments that last a lifetime. Let’s compete with passion, respect officials and opponents, and make this a championship event to remember. Focus on appreciation, not frustration our young athletes are looking up to us. Let’s set the best example and make every moment count.
Let the games begin!
Yours in Basketball,
Dawson N. Blanck
