Eco-Ent is leading the charge to produce less waste in entertainment. Enclosed is a eco-friendly music download card we are giving away for FREE instead of a CD. We hope to inspire consumers to be ecoconscious by using this unique alternative that has a smaller (or no) amount of plastic than that which is normally used in manufacturing and packaging a CD. Additionally, because the music content contained within is digitally downloadable, the delicate balance of our environment is preserved. The cards we offer range from recycled materials, to cardboard, to seeded cards that will produce plants once they decompose. Even better than all that, is the fact that these card promote faith based ideals and business. Each download card is uniquely customized and designed to promote Kingdom commerce. And to go a step further, Eco-Ent will host quarterly professional networking mixers to discuss even better ways to be earth friendly, bring together like minded business people, and introduce new resources to the marketplace. Do your part, log on to www.eco-ent.com, create an account, and download your eco-friendly music or entertainment today with the code we have provided on the back of the card, then ENJOY! If you would like to find out when our next mixer will be, how you can get your music on our playlists, or you have a business that you would like advertised, send an email to Ursula@eco-ent.com.

MINISTRY

The occupation of DJ‘ing is more than 100 years old. The true age of DJ ministry could be anyone‘s guess. Nonetheless, UGA International recognizes the power of the DJ in relation to breaking new music to the masses and the DJ‘s ability to influence public tastes. THE DJ IS INTEGRAL TO THE MUSIC THAT IS PRODUCED FOR THE KINGDOM & THE CULTURE IT SERVES!! Important to the DJ is recognition, advancement, promotion, celebration, and preservation of the DJ culture, the art and science of DJing, and the societal/cultural function performed by DJs, both within and outside the DJ community (e.g. education, mentoring, archiving, public relations, exchange of musical and technical knowledge, etc). Also, emphasis is placed on becoming one of the best and performing on the best events capturing the most attention from their fans, other consumers, and impacting media. These events can be in clubs, churches, and other high profile productions, etc., and the DJs can be affiliated or independents. Within the next few pages is a tribute to the men and women who hold down urban ministries on the 1‘s and 2‘s…..Mic check, Mic check, 1,2, 3…...

MINISTRY DJ Mission: I‘ve had a love for music since I was a child. Prior to going to college I realized that I had a call to the music industry. It was then that God gave me the vision for Reflect Shine Entertainment, a ministry that would produce entertainment that reflects and shines the Glory of God through entertainment and entertainment arts (i.e. Fashion, Graffiti), bringing the sights and sounds of Heaven to Earth. At my nineteenth birthday party in VA my friends, Platinum Souls brought DJ E Double U with them. As he anointedly begin to spin on the 1‘s and 2‘s, God spoke to me ―That is what I want you to be doing.‖ The following year, it turned out my audio engineering professor was also a Christian DJ. That year, 2003, he began to train me and let me use his equipment to do shows. Over the years, God has shown me how He can use the techniques of Turntablism to create a ripping and tearing in the spirit realm, as the DJ mixes and scratches, to bring deliverance in people‘s lives as they give praise to God. It is my passion that through DJing, God would use me to help people experience an authentic encounter with the Glory of God so that His Kingdom would come in their lives, making every crooked place straight and every rough place smooth. Born in Brooklyn, raised in Queens, NY, of Panamanian decedents, DJ Cue started DJing at 12. He watched as hip-hop matured from its inception and birth into an art-form and culture. In 1997, after DJ Cue moved to Atlanta, an opportunity arose for him to DJ part time. Cue realized that his passion never left, so he began to re-build his arsenal. After several false starts, he decided to start GetDJCue.com. Since that time, Cue has been very successful, he has spent many hours honing his craft as a live event DJ, proclaiming that he is not a mix -tape DJ but prefers spinning-LIVE. Cue eventually incorporated Gospel music into his program. He has worked hard to support other ministries in and around the city of Atlanta. Cue continues to focus his efforts on strategic development as it also supports his ability to do ministry. Cue states, ―My mission is simple, I have a testimony to share. I do that through music. Therefore, I seek out opportunities to work with artists and support those that I can in an attempt to bring them, and their music, to the forefront via my platform and mixes wherever possible.‖ Cue believes DJs are vital to supporting and spreading the Gospel but all involved must also do all things in excellence. Cue is currently the official DJ for Soul Water (Atlanta) and J. Fraze (W. Virginia). DJ Cue is currently the official DJ for Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags White Water. He is a member of the GA Mobile DJ Assoc., and Dir. for UGAI DJ Network. DJ Mission: My passion for music was sparked when I served in audio & sound at New Birth MBC. That post allowed me to meet and work with many celebrities such as Mary Mary, Canton Jones, Irocc Williams, and others. While serving in New Birth Student Ministries (NBSM), my mentor and youth leader, Edward Long purchased CDJ turntables for the church. This is what started my DJ career. Min. Long allowed me to practice using the turntables every week. Shortly thereafter I was appointed DJ of NBSM. While ministering Edward introduced me to DJ Dex who also became a mentor disciplining me in all aspects of the DJ trade. Through my DJ ministry God has allowed me to minister for The Mixx Masters Lounge, and guest DJ for THE EXODUS TOUR with CoCo Brother, and The Represent Youth Conference 2010. I have had appearances at The Stellar Awards, Red Carpet Awards, Trumpet Awards, etc. I am the Official DJ for Edward Long, NBSM, The New Birth Radio Show, and one of the youngest member of Go Ye DJ's. DJ'ing gives me the ability to alter the mood of any environment. It provides me an opportunity to make my own music, blend my own sound, and develop a brand that influences my listening audience. As well I use my DJing to change lives and honor God in a way not previously imagined.

Mouthpi3ce is not just a name but a call from God to speak to an un-reached generation by means of music and public speaking. Since accepting his call he has had the opportunity to preach, speak and perform at many churches, schools, and detention centers across the United States. The characteristics that separate MOUTHPI3CE from a host of similar artists in the music industry are his creative ways for delivering a message. He has a God given gift of finding new ways of introducing Jesus Christ. Unlike many others he does it without sounding so preachy and that's even when he's preaching. To the Kingdom's gain many have accepted Jesus Christ as a result of his call. His charisma and skill makes the music attractive and desired among his peers saved and unsaved alike. This is a quality much needed in such a perverse generation as today. With all that said his die-hard love and passion for Jesus Christ makes the anointing upon his life evident and undeniable. Before God is done with him, he is sure to have spoken a mouthful to the world. To order visit http://mouthpi3ce.blogspot.com.

ENTERTAINMENT The Arts The Gospel of Graffiti. Graffiti on walls has long since been generally thought of as a nuisance, vandalism, or a community eyesore. Today, it is a more appreciated art form and graffiti artists can command great prosperity, be commissioned for murals and other great works, and even be feature in fine museums and art publications for their works. However, the Gospel Graffiti Crew, do it for another reason! Gospel Graffiti Crew is a Christian graffiti crew, but more importantly, it has become a ministry. The crew has been thrust into the lime light with the popularity of urban culture expanding. Because graffiti is rooted in fame and self glorification, a mission and vision was needed in order to stay the course that God was leading GGC to. Gospel Graffiti Crew is called to a high standard when reflecting God, as well as the other crew members. To better understand how they are called to reflect God and each other, one must understand their mission and vision. Mission: Gospel Graffiti Crew is a ministry that is called to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through legal graffiti art. This will be accomplished through a global community of artists who share the call and desire to use legal graffiti art as a tool to seek and save the lost. GGC reflects Christ, on and off the wall, to show His love to the world. Vision: GGC‘s vision is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through legal graffiti art as well as in their daily lives. This means that GGC represents Christ and seeks to grow in Him. It also means that they seek to grow closer as a crew.

Decoding the Dress Code A Fashion Column by Donnell Duncan Part Two: Semi-Formal Donnell Duncan, author of several books, twice listed as a finalist for Atlanta’s Power 30 Under 30, and internationally renowned blogger-“A Daily Walk with God.” Visit www.thecrackeddoor.com.

Ladies and gentlemen, I formally present to you part two of a very simple guide called, ―Standard Dress Code 101 (Fall/ Winter Edition).‖ Part one was released in the previous version of this magazine. The five standards of the dress code are Formal (White Tie), Semi-Formal (Black Tie), Informal, Business and Business Casual (Corporate). Standard Dress Code 101 (Fall/Winter Edition) Semi-Formal (Black Tie) – This is socially accepted in formal events. Hence, it‘s the pinnacle of my dress code. If I am ever seen at a ―formal‖ event, this is what I wear and fit right in. It‘s important to note that hats are not worn with Semi-Formal evening wear. For gentlemen, this is built around a black tuxedo with matching black dress pants but other colors are allowed. No turn ups/cuffs or belt loops are expected in pants but suspenders are common. This should be accentuated by a black tie and vest, white stiff collared shirt with black/ gold cufflinks, black socks and black lace up dress shoes with no decoration. Special details include an optional black cummerbund instead of a vest, white silk or linen handkerchief. For ladies, a long flowing evening gown is the standard. There are three common lengths; tea, from mid-calf to ankle, ballerina, to the ankle and full length, to the floor. There are four suitable materials; chiffon, velvet, satin and silk. Footwear includes matching dress pumps and sandals. One modern alternative to the traditional formal gown is the full length ball skirt with a lace camisole, cashmere sweater or dressy top. XXXII

FEATURE: Editor‘s Commentary

“And the winner is…..?” As a Kingdom ambassador and advocate for excellence as well as independent artists of all kinds who fall within the realm of ―Urban Gospel‖ I am compelled to share with you my thoughts on this ever-growing and expanding subject—award shows. I still consider myself a newbie when it comes to the music business, and specifically the business of Gospel music. However, when began my career nearly 8 years ago I was as green as a first time (ever) visitor at church during communion service. But what I was familiar with was recognizing and acknowledging excellence! Since that time I have had the privilege of learning a little more about the biz and the Urban Gospel Industry. You ask anyone close to me or anyone with whom I have an extended conversation with and they will tell you that I can be a harsh critic when it comes our collective profession. One of the areas in particular—award shows—I can tend to be a bit vocal. You see I believe in standards. Standards set the tone, creates benchmarks, and generates value. We have reached a critical point in our advancement where we can no longer afford to perpetuate mediocrity under the guise of promoting excellence. This fact is the main reasons why when I took over as owner and leader of UGA I suspended the awards program. Our industry still has a long way to go and in my opinion until we have a governing body (a standard) such as that utilized by The Recording Academy for the Grammy‘s, we will continually go in circles chasing our tails. We have to incorporate strategies that will impact mainstream audiences. This can hardly be accomplished while hosting or participating in poorly planned, unstructured, and non-inclusive (the kind that have little to no consideration for the indies) awards shows. We need unity as one body. Which brings me to the point of this article. The Excellence in Christian Music Awards (ECMA) is a new standard in awards program. As a visionary that has glimpsed at the promise of the Urban Gospel Industry, ECMA, along with a few others, is a step in the right direction.

FEATURE: Editor‘s Commentary ECMA is the insightful creation of Henry Harris, former President of the Stellar Awards Gospel Music Academy Advisory Board (SAGMA). This awards program, a conglomeration of the Strategic Music Partnership (SMP) not only encourages the growth and expansion of the artists and their careers, but it also facilitates the forward progression of the Christian/Gospel music industry. ECMA represents a new era in the training, education, and development of Christian/Gospel music artists. The award recipient, one from each of the 50 states, will have the opportunity to earn their trophy by excelling in their career initiatives, receiving expert training, and developing strategies for success, not to mention all expenses paid roundtrip travel to the nationally televised awards show in Washington, D.C. at the culmination of the program. Although this program does not exclude professionally promoted artists who have national platforms, it does primarily target for recognition those independent Christian and Gospel artists alike in need of encouragement and exposure. Successful ECMA nominees must complete educational training sessions in the areas of stage presence, vocal technique, public speaking, media relations, career management, marketing, distribution, studio technique, and radio promotion. After receiving educational training, nominees will be expected to demonstrate their knowledge by implementing the strategies learned in their individual ministries or within their music careers. Thus establishing a standard of excellence consumers come to expect when trading dollars for products and services. I support it and suggest others do the same! For more information and to register, visit the ECMA website at www.smpecma.com. Ursula D.

What do jazz great Duke Ellington, Motown legend Marvin Gaye, R&B crooner Roberta Flack, pop songstress Mya and godfather of gogo Chuck Brown have in common? DC is where they all got their start, and they have all made their mark on the District's black history. Much of DC‘s musical history is centered north of downtown on U Street, which was once known as ―Black Broadway.‖ DC natives Pearl Bailey, Jelly Roll Morton and Shirley Horn were regular fixtures on the entertainment circuit, playing such venues as Bohemian Caverns and the Lincoln Theatre. Family Volunteering SixSeeds.org Why families aren't offering their most valuable resource Painting projects, bake sales, and stuffing envelopes are helpful. But are activities like those always the most valuable form of service that a family can offer? Take the father who happens to be a Silicon Valley computer engineer. He wants to serve. But are the most common volunteer opportunities the best outlet for that motivation? Is there some way to leverage his considerable professional skills? SixSeeds.org Parents Discussion: Our role in cultivating virtue There is no one magic formula. But what are the different roles we parents can play to bring out the best in our kids? The SixSeeds Parents Study group is comprised of a group of thoughtful parents. They convene regularly to read and reflect about raising children who enjoy material prosperity.

New York‘s finest? For some the jury may still be out, yet for others—a phoenix is ascending from the depths of the abyss. Whom, you may be asking yourself is this? Well, recently our New York Correspondent, Mekha, caught up with none other than the young Ms. HeeSun Lee at the Kingdom Choice Awards in October to share with MVII readers a little more about herself, her ministry, her views and impact on Urban Gospel/Christian Rap, and some other little known Words by Mekha facts. Abandoned at birth in her native home of Seoul, Korea, trapped in the cyclic foster care system, she had every excuse not to succeed. Later she would relocate to Staten Island, NY with her adoptive family. Ms. Lee is stronger these days and with God adding his SUPER to her natural, nothing is impossible! This femme fatale tells MVII that she is a break from the norm, ―Obviously from looking at me anyone can see that I bring something different. My biggest challenge is to break barriers—cultural barriers, gender barriers, and religious barriers. Even when you consider where I‘m from, not just Korea but also being raised in Staten Island (not exactly meccas for Hip-Hop culture) is a huge barrier to becoming an emcee . But I have something to contribute from every aspect of my life—good and bad—it‘s something that a lot of people can‘t make the most of. I was born in Korea, I‘m female, and I‘m doing Christian Music. I represent what‘s new, refreshing, impacting and that which requires others to reflect on their situation and remain hopeful. I want to break barriers to let people know I am not ashamed of the Gospel and they don‘t have to be either.‖

When asked about her decision to accept Jesus as Savior and whether she experienced any obstacles making that conversion she elaborates that while in high school her beloved grandmother passed so her friend invited her to church. Although she had previously gone to church when she was little, she now felt like she had a reason to go. ―I felt like, this was a huge change in my life. I needed something and that‘s when I found God. However, I actually felt like after I found God my life got more complicated, not in a bad way but I felt like now I was living for something, I had a reason to fight for things where as before I was just chillin.‖ Even though at times it seemed as though things got harder, she began to notice things she hadn‘t noticed before. ―So once I got to college the struggle with guys, parties, and other temptations caused me to back slide a lot but as I began to understand more about my relationship with God it actually made me stronger as a Christian and I feel like if I hadn‘t gone through those trials then I would not be sitting here.‖ Mekha asked HeeSun if she felt there is a spiritual attack against youth through music and entertainment, for which she responded, ―the media and entertainment that youth see on TV and hear on the radio is really directing their lives. The celebrities they see the most or identify with become their role models. Most of these kids don‘t even look to their parents any more, it‘s more like (without trying to name drop) the Nicky Manaj‘s and the Lil Wayne‘s have more influence with them because they are perceived as cool and the kids all want to be cool and gangsta like their idols. It‘s not about living right, its not about having morals, its not about respecting your parents, because that‘s not ‗cool.‘ youth want to emulate the lives inaccurately portrayed by those in the media limelight because they got the

money, the eye candy on their arm, and they got the cars, homes, private jets and traveling all over the world. But, it‘s our jobs as Christians to let them know that the image they see is beyond what they see on the surface. Just because these people have all these things doesn‘t mean that they‘re truly happy and there‘s so much more to life. Also, us Christians, whether artist or ministers in another sphere, really have to start educating and informing these young kids and providing viable entertainment alternatives so they know what‘s really important because media and music really directs peoples lives and moves people to make changes. HeeSun Lee is still standing strong in her passion, and never fails in delivering thought-provoking messages decimating stereotypes. In a male dominated, sexually explicit, drug induced, and violently commercialized industry she is one of those up and coming artists who is causing a shift in the typical message and appearance of hip hop-A true leader of the new school. Her first full-length album, "Re-Defined," produced by Rock of Jahrock'n Productions was previously released. She takes it back to her roots of poetry with some spoken word pieces, and still shows off her love for hip hop. This album is the first of many to come from Heesun, so please be sure to support it. Her current music video, ―Open Your Eyes‖ can be viewed at YouTube. §

Another Impact Maker, Glorious Foreman, known to most as ―Glo,‖ is a 17year old Christian Rap veteran. Having started his career some 5 years earlier at World Changers Church International in the teen ministry, he is head and shoulders ahead of a lot of his peer and colleagues. Unlike so many others who pick up the mic to rhyme for the purpose of self-glorification, fame, or fortune, Glo, being completely committed and totally dedicated to his craft, is driven by a higher power to deliver socially responsible and culturally relevant subject matter to audiences all around the world. Glo is a one-man phenomenon. Not only does he rap, but he also sings, writes, and records a good portion of his music right from his own room in the home of his very supportive parent‘s just outside one of south Atlanta‘s suburbs. Glo attributes much of success to his loving family. He believes that God, as his center, is the foundation for why he is who he is, ―I define God as He defines Himself which is--Love.‖ Glo is excited to be identified among the next generation in Urban Gospel because as he puts it, ―It‘s not just hip hop, but GLO: it‘s a gateway into Christian “Reporting Live from My Room” culture that reaches across

generations to bring people into the truth that Jesus Christ is the only way, the truth, and the life. Glo‘s appeal is more than that of a home town favorite. The global reach of his ministry is steadily increasing and expanding. His musical impact is felt in international markets like the UK and Canada as well in various domestic states here in the U.S. such as New York, Florida, Chicago, North Carolina, Alabama, and all over Georgia. But he is not caught up in the fact that he can rock stages with the best of them hearing crowds scream his name or sing along with him as he performs his hit record ―Oxy Clean.‖ No, this young man‘s primary focus is the message of Jesus Christ and that ―people my age experience the Presence of God as they listen to the words God has given me that speaks to them where they are with their issues; and when I am able to tell them of His love for them it amazes them to see that He uses people their age, such as myself, to speak His message of love, hope, and life to them,‖ say Glo. He is goal-oriented too. Over the next year he plans to host local school events ministering to elementary, middle, and high school grades, and then hopefully attracting college and university students through music that inspires them to seek after God and live for the cause of Christ. Within 3 years he plans on traveling from state to state spreading his goodwill to all students throughout the continental United States. Inside of 5 years his

goal is to do the same thing abroad– traveling from country to country. Glo is definitely leaving an indelible mark on the world with his one of a kind sound and youthful zeal. When asked , what's the "I was here" mark you'd like to leave on the Urban Gospel Movement? He replies, ―here is a young man who operated in the anointing beyond his years and through his music he has inspired people (young and old) to get to know God for themselves and helped them to smile in the midst of their personal trying times and helped them to understand that anything good is possible with God.‖ Glo continues to collaborate on different projects with artist such as Canton Jones, Mouthpiece, Big Ran and with various other artists on Arrow Records at World Changers. Presently he‘s working on two new music projects, developing his own business ―PG Music Zoe‖ (Praising God Music for Life), partnering with Branded Pure Media to develop campus tours and events, and preparing to minister at various events he has been invited to minister that will expand his national platform and appeal. §

BALLIN’ Six foot three inch Sidney Spencer was born and raised in Hoover, Alabama. Sidney started playing organized basketball when she was 4 with the parks and recreation league. Coming from a sports family, and having older brothers always meant playing with a ball of some sort. In college, at University of Tennessee, Sidney majored in Sports Management in April 2007 she led the team to the national championship. That same month, she was selected in the 2nd round of the WNBA draft by the Los Angeles Sparks. Sidney has a huge heart for people and missions. While in college, Sidney got to go to Belize, Brazil, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic on Mission trips. Sidney feels it is very important to get involved with the community. In college, she served on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes In Action (FCAIA) leadership team, Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), participated in food drives, holiday dinners for the homeless, tutored at a local housing project, built houses with habitat for humanity, breast cancer awareness runs (Race for the Cure), children hospital visits, adopted families for holidays, and partnered with the Home Depot to build playgrounds at the Boys and Girl Club. Sidney states, ―I was so blessed to grow up attending church on Sundays with my family. I started taking some classes required by the church when I was 12 which led me to begin asking all kinds of questions. It was then that I learned about what Christ did for me and how He desires to have control of my life. However, I did not fully understand that concept until I was 17 and in the midst of a heated recruiting battle. I was completely unsure of where I was supposed to go to college, and the coaches wanted an answer quick. I realized through the stress, pressure, and worry that I had put basketball equal with God, and therefore I could not find peace with the decision. I recommitted my entire life, including basketball, to God. I knew that He had already selected the school for me. Since then, I have been continually growing in my faith and walk with Jesus. I hope to continue to use my basketball life to influence others.‖ Eventually, when basketball is over, Sidney wants to do sports mission trips and travel all over the world using basketball to bring people to Christ. Sidney is now a part of the WNBA New York Liberty‘s team.

BALLIN’ Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard was recently baptized on a warm Sunday afternoon. Howard‘s baptism, along with dozens of others, was part of a beachside service held by Orlando's Summit Church. With the sun fading about 5:45 p.m., Howard waded into the cold surf, the last person in a long line of folks to be baptized. He grimaced slightly and tensed up in reaction to the water as he walked toward the pastors— who had to back up with him into deeper water to accommodate his 6-11, 265-pound frame. After making a profession of faith in Jesus, Howard was dunked into the Atlantic Ocean. Article by Rick Brunson adapted from Orlando Sentinel.com 10-24-10.

ECONOMIC$ Wealth Building One Step at a Time-Continued Last issue you were introduced to my 10-Step Wealth Building plan. In this and subsequent issues I will provide you with the detail of each of those steps Wealth Step #1: Honor the Lord With Your Tithes and Offerings .

I believe that giving is really a test of our faith in God. In Proverbs 3:9-10, scripture exhorts us to honor the Lord with the first of our income. Do you believe that all of your blessings come from God? If so, then shouldn‘t you break off a little something for Him? I bet if you did, you‘d see even more blessings come your way. I know many people who testify that they live better on ninety-percent of their income than they ever did on one-hundred percent because once they started giving, they received more! Don‘t forget the words of an old gospel song: ―You can‘t beat God‘s giving, no matter how you try!‖ —Lee Jenkins

POLITICS 2010 Mid-term Election Analysis Words by Jim Wallis of Sojourners www.sojo.net

Four years ago, and two years ago, people voted decisively for change; and now, in a shift no one could have predicted after the last election, voters have just voted for change again in 2010. And chilling polls show that the vast majority of the country, this time, voted against rather than for particular candidates or policies. The Republican leadership made it clear they were running a campaign that was meant as a referendum on Obama's first two years in office. The change promised in 2008 never came about in the minds of many across the political spectrum -- on the left, the right, and the center. The new president has been up against almost insurmountable odds, especially from all that he inherited, or as he puts it, the "cards we were dealt." But, from the results we just saw and the Republican priority of making Obama a one-term President, it clearly seems that many in the country would seem to disagree with the White House assessment. What happened? Given many obstacles, administration advocates believe that Obama has a two-year record of great accomplishments, including some things that his predecessors failed to do. He thinks so too, and points to historic health care legislation, the most serious financial regulatory reform since the Great Depression, no energy bill but increased fuel standards, new student loan programs, unnoticed investments in infrastructure and clean energy, a much expanded national service agenda, and a plan for educational reform which we haven't seen in 30 years. Obama wonders why people LXVIII

POLITICS 2010 Mid-term Election Analysis con’t don't see all that, which he calls "the most successful administration in generations in moving the progressive agenda forward." But Obama's legislative victories inside the beltway have clearly not connected to the everyday lives of too many Americans or to their core values. Many families who are struggling and afraid don't believe that Washington or Wall Street cares about them or is really with them. And they showed their anger at the polls, or their disillusionment by not even showing up. Do you remember how cold it was in Washington for the inauguration of President Barack Obama? Yet, it was one of the warmest days in memory: in the way two million people treated each other on the Mall, in the hope that filled the air around the country, in the sense of history being made with America's first black president, in the expectation that the country was about to move to a new place of change out of the grip of a deep recession, and the promise of a generational political shift. How ironically warm it seemed on that distant January day now stands in sharp contrast with the cold and very angry political atmosphere that was evidenced in the midterm elections.
