Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) - Ten Album Shortlist Revealed The shortlist for the most coveted music prize in Scotland has been unveiled. The Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award announced the 10 albums during an exclusive live broadcast of BBC Radio Scotland’s The Quay Sessions. The shortlist of 10 albums included internationally successful synthpop trio CHVRCHES from Glasgow, hotly tipped North London born, Edinburgh raised composer Anna Meredith and Auntie Flo (with an album featuring Ghanaian artist Anbuley and South African coproducer Esa Williams), 2015 Mercury Music Prize nominee C Duncan, previous winners (and Mercury Music prize 2014 winners for Dead) Young Fathers and Scottish and English folk ensemble Lau. Producer Graeme Clark also known as The Revenge, Chemikal Underground artist Emma Pollock and ex Beta Band member Steve Mason all also made it onto the shortlist.

FFS were the winner of the public vote. The remaining nine slots were chosen by an independent panel of judges (see Notes for Editors for full list of judges). The process will culminate in a winning Scottish album picking up a £20,000 first prize while nine shortlisted titles will receive £1,000 each. Now in its fifth year, the award prize makes the SAY Award ceremony on Wednesday 29 June one of the most lucrative in UK music. For the first time, the SAY Award is being held at Paisley Town Hall to tie in with the Paisley bid for UK City of Culture 2021.

The SAY Award winner will be unveiled on 29 June at a ceremony in Paisley Town Hall hosted by Vic Galloway and Janice Forsyth. This will be broadcast live on BBC Radio Scotland.
