THE 101 ..... @ BELLA BAR - Friday @ 3.45pm Hailing from the north east of Scotland, five-piece indie/ pop band The 101 have achieved a lot since forming in 2017. Over half a million streams on Spotify, airplay via BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, they’ve performed on STV and been championed by Clash, NME and The Sun. HECTOR SHAW ..... @ FREE RANGE FOLK stage - Saturday @ 12.45pm As a young child Hector Shaw regularly went on tour with his parents - members of the Scottish folk band Capercaillie. Now 19 and living in Glasgow he has been busy performing in and around the central belt. His songs often using open tunings, his voice is husky and laid-back with some clear influences including greats like John Martyn and Joni Mitchell. Non-profit touring network Off Axis, who organise gigs in 83 towns and cities throughout the UK, has teamed up with Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival and XpoNorth to present some of the UK’s best new bands at Belladrum 2019.

Scotland's festival season will come to an incredible close this August, with international acts playing the country's most vibrant cities as Summer Sessions in Edinburgh + Glasgow bring acts including The Cure, Florence + the Machine, The 1975, CHVRCHES, Lewis Capaldi and much more to the country. The Snuts said, "We are mad proud of everything Lewis has accomplished and it will be proper nostalgic to share a stage with him again like we did when were all boys. Fans should expect The Snuts to kick off the celebration in the loudest of fashions. We’re hoping to play a huge part in what will be a night to remember for everyone there." The capital city will enjoy an incredible NINE days of music as Summer Sessions returns to the iconic Princes Street Gardens, with a backdrop like no other, of Edinburgh Castle. Headliners include Florence + the Machines, CHVRCHES, Primal Scream, Lewis Capaldi and more, for a truly unforgettable, intimate gig during Edinburgh's buzzing festival scene in August. Aberdeen’s awardwinning music festival True North has today announced the full festival line-up for 2019 which includes a specially curated concert celebrating the very best of Scottish pop music as well as an array of thrilling artists performing across the city. Rip it Up Live – A Celebration of Scottish Pop, which takes place as part of a weekend of extraordinary music from 19-22 September in Aberdeen, will be staged for a one-off performance at the Music Hall on Sunday, 22 September. It has been commissioned by Aberdeen Performing Arts for True North and will be curated and hosted by BBC broadcaster Vic Galloway. Guest singers will include Claire Grogan of Altered Images, King Creosote, Emma Pollock from The Delgados, Richard Jobson of The Skids, Fay Fyfe and Eugene Reynolds of The Rezillos, Aberdeen’s own Kathryn Joseph, Honeyblood’s Stina Tweeddale, C Duncan, and Ross Leighton (Fatherson) performing some of their favourite songs from seven decades of Scottish pop.

The world’s first interactive Piping Jukebox, complete with live piper inside visited Glasgow’s Buchanan Street in July to give the public a taste of what to expect from this year’s Piping Live! Glasgow's International Piping Festival. Crowds were treated to piping hot renditions of Lewis Capaldi’s number 1 single Someone You Loved and Piping Live! 2019 headliner Dougie MacLean’s Caledonia, among many other favourites, before being invited to select the genre of the next song. This summer, one of Scotland’s leading traditional arts organisations, Fèis Rois, is hosting the 'Scotland Pavilion' at the acclaimed Festival Interceltique de Lorient in Brittany, France for a second year, with over 80 hours of music, song and dance from some of Scotland’s best up and coming artists programmed. The festival, which is set to attract an audience of 750,000 from 2 – 11 August, is widely regarded as Europe’s largest Celtic music festival. It offers an opportunity to highlight the wealth of talent emerging from the Scottish music scene and, in particular, from Fèis Rois and the wider Fèisean movement. The Scotland Pavilion will see audiences enjoy 80 hours of live traditional Scottish music over the 10 days of the festival, as well as having the opportunity to participate in 15 hours of workshops and engage in a series of industry panel discussions.

Surrounded by trees and green fields and overlooked by the stately Cardross Estate House, Doune The Rabbit Hole is a bohemian affair with an eclectic array of music and activities for all the family. Despite Friday’s severe weather warning, revellers partied on celebrating the festival’s 10th anniversary throughout relentless rain. Saturday brought glorious sunshine and barefoot dreadlocked hippies, families, pensioners and dogs on leads mixed equally around the site which had a relaxed unpretentious vibe. In between acts, the kids took part in a range of activities, playing with toys, attended a yoga

Festival Interceltique de Lorient Brittany, France 2-11 August

This summer, one of Scotland’s leading traditional arts organisations, Fèis Rois, is hosting the 'Scotland Pavilion' at the acclaimed Festival Interceltique de Lorient in Brittany, France for a second year, with over 80 hours of music, song and dance from some of Scotland’s best up and coming artists programmed. The festival, which is set to attract an audience of 750,000 from 2 – 11 August, is widely regarded as Europe’s largest Celtic music festival. Paisley’s annual Spree festival has today announced its biggest line-up yet – with Glasvegas, Gruff Rhys, PP Arnold and Hue and Cry among the acts coming to town this October.

The Festival of Small Halls on the Isle of Skye brings music to ten remote village halls around the Island and Lochalsh. The SEALL Festival of Small Halls runs for eight days and includes concerts, cèilidhs and public and music workshops in halls and schools by some of the nation’s finest traditional musicians.
