This year marks the 20th anniversary of Charmant Group’s cooperation with global fashion brand Esprit. Under the stewardship of both companies, Esprit-branded eyewear has become an international success story. Today, the Esprit eyewear collection is made up of more than 130 sunglasses and 150 optical frames for adults and children and is sold in Esprit stores and retail points as well as optical stores around the world. Each Esprit frame is synonymous with the high quality and great value that both Charmant and Esprit strive for in the creation of their products.

Early days

The licensing agreement between Charmant and Esprit is signed and work begins on the creation, production and distribution of an eyewear collection for one of the world’s leading fashion brands. The rst products are eagerly snapped up in retail and optical stores worldwide.

With the growing success of the adult collections and the ever-expanding distribution of the Esprit brand internationally, a children’s optical frame line is launched. The focus is on lightness, exceptional t, durability, and cute, kidfriendly design.

WHAT SEASON ARE YOU?

Spring warm

CHARACTERISTICS: Spring types have gold-beige, peach or ivory skin tones. Hair is usually golden brown, strawberry blond or auburn and has a golden shimmer. Eyes tend to be blue, light blue, grey-green or golden brown but are rarely green or dark brown.

CHARACTERISTICS: Quintessential summer girls' looks are complemented by a cool skin undertone with pink nuances. Summer skins can be pigmented with freckles that are golden brown or grey-brown. Hair runs the gamut from light blond to dark brown with ash tones. Eyes are often pale blue, grey-blue, blue-green or hazelnut-brown with eye whites not especially distinguishable from the iris.

Ever notice how you stand out in certain colours while others leave you looking drained? This is because of your skin undertone. By finding out if you have a warm or cool skin undertone, you can pick out the right colours for you every time. The veins on your inner wrists indicate your skin type. Blue veins mean your skin has a cool undertone, while greenish veins indicate a warmer hue. Cool and warm undertones are sub-categorised into seasons: those with cool skin undertones are defined as summer or winter types and warm skin undertones as spring or autumn. Now, which season are you?

COLOUR ANALYSIS: Spring types demand soft, light, clear colours such as moody linden green, apricot, creamy white or gold-beige. Black and white or dark colours should be avoided by spring. Gold jewellery works better than silver or platinum. Make-up and blusher should be in pink and orange tones.

COLOUR ANALYSIS: For summer types, subdued colours like lavender, pink, light denim-blue, pastel colours and also beige and brown tones look really great. Vivid colours, such as green and blue, will wash out a summer skin. Silver or white-gold metals are preferable to gold. Make-up can be richly coloured with dramatic Bordeaux-painted lips.

Autumn warm

CHARACTERISTICS: Typical autumn types have skin with a warm, yellowish or golden undertone. They tend to be pale with reddish hair. Eyes are golden brown, dark brown or green but can also be light blue or turquoise with a dark eye frame.

COLOUR ANALYSIS: Autumn types opt for bright, warm, earthy colours. Tones with a yellowish tint such as camel, olive or dark brown really enhance this golden look. Bright, cold colours and black should be avoided. Low-key, natural make-up is recommended but liven up lips with dramatic bright red.

CHARACTERISTICS: Winter skin types tend to be white but can also have an olive tone. The hair is normally dark brown to black. Eyes are also dark coloured or grey-blue, green or deep blue. The whites of the eyes are distinctive from the iris.

WINTER COOL

COLOUR ANALYSIS: Winter women can embrace strong, cool colours like marine blue, black, white, pink and red. Bluish tones look especially good. Earthy and pastel colours should be left aside as they tend to wash out the winter complexion. Opt for silver instead of gold accessories. Richly coloured make-up enhances this girl’s skin tone, while dark brown or black makes eyes come alive.

Steven, what makes San Francisco so special for you? The city will always be special to me because it’s where I grew up. I love its cosmopolitan feel and the diversity you nd here is just incredible. San Francisco has just about anything you want: museums, symphony, opera, theatre, music and much more – and all world class.

What are the “must-see” attractions for tourists? So many things to see and do! There’s the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, the new Oakland Bay Bridge, Alcatraz, Chinatown, Coit Tower, Fisherman’s Wharf - the list goes on and on... I think anybody who comes to San Francisco has to ride the cable cars up and down the hilly streets - there is nothing quite like it anywhere else in the world!

Can you provide some insights into the night life? Night life ranges from simple neighbourhood dive bars to some of the nest restaurants in the world. Whatever you are looking for, you will nd it. There are theatre productions, live music, comedy shows, dance clubs and more.

Where do you recommend your friends and family stay when they come to visit? I generally recommend one of the nicer hotels like The Fairmont, Stanford Court, W Hotel or one of the larger hotel chains such as the Marriott, Hilton and the like. ls there anything else you’d like to add about San Francisco? lf you’ve never had the opportunity to visit San Francisco, then make sure it’s on your bucket list. Once you get here, give yourself enough time to also explore attractions that lie within an hour or two of the city. Some of those that come to mind are the giant redwoods in Marin County and of course the Napa / Sonoma wine region. I believe once you’ve experienced San Francisco, you’ll want to come back.

Cycle around the city to get a feeling for the city! If you want to cycle for leisure, Monterey’s 17-Mile Drive will give you utmost pleasure being one of the most breath-taking cycling roads in the world.

Watch the Giants and Be a Fan

The Giants Baseball team won two of the three recent World Series, which means that the love they are getting is not merely some kind of patriotic devotion. Check out a Giants’ game at the splendid AT&T dome!

Eat Burritos and Ice Cream

Get fresh crops straight from farmers who planted them! There are street markets everywhere in San Francisco so getting something fresh is always just a few blocks away.
