TheGreaterKingdomoftheSecondGradeA(2ºA)

For our Christmas project in history class, we made Medieval Christmas Cards. We imagined going back to the Middle Ages when everybody wrote letters to different people in the feudal society. To illustrate our letters, we created our own “Coat ofArms” based on our personality, but following typical symbols, animals and colors of the era. For example: “swords” mean “military fortitude”, “lions” mean “bravery”, “blue” means “loyalty”. We were able to choose as many as we wanted to represent our kingdom. The lettering we used was Carolingian to replicate the calligraphy of The MiddleAges. Our Christmas letter recipients were different members of the feudal society such as: the King, the Clergy, the Lords, the Knights, peasants and serfs. For example, a Knight would offer peasants tools in exchange for more crops. An abbot addressed The King that the new choir of the Gregorian chant had come to the kingdom to expand the village’s faith. During December, we spent a few classes working on this Holiday Project and discussed our ideas. As a class, we enjoyed this activity because we learned more about The Middle Ages. We dived into the minds of the feudal system and created our ideal imaginarykingdoms.
