A Brief History of Konzertdirektion Hans Adler
Konzertdirektion Hans Adler was founded in Berlin on October 1, 1918, by Hans Adler, with the aspiration of bringing musical excellence to the stage. The company’s inaugural concert featured none other than Richard Strauss, setting a precedent for the artistic standard that would define its future.
For over a century, we have played a vital role in shaping the classical music landscape. The German debut of Vladimir Horowitz in 1925, as well as the first Berlin appearances of Otto Klemperer, Friedrich Gulda, Yehudi Menuhin,

Daniel Barenboim, Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel, Bernard Haitink, and Zubin Mehta, all form part of our distinguished history. Anne-Sophie Mutter’s legendary first audition for Herbert von Karajan in 1976 was also made possible through our auspices.

Today, we continue this legacy with dedication and vision. With more than 60 outstanding concerts each season, we help make Berlin a vibrant center of classical music.

We create space for artistic renewal, unite tradition with a spirit of discovery, and provide a platform for exceptional young talents as they embark on international careers.
