We are proud to support Music Theatre Wichita

Welcome to the 2023 Season! It is a bridge to 2024 where all five shows will be INDOORS! But I am very thankful that we get to bring these five shows to you this year. Two new shows never before seen on the MTWichita stage, Rock of Ages at the Capitol Federal Amphitheater and a new version of Red, White and Broadway at Botanica as well as three audience favorites, Beauty and the Beast, Ragtime and Cats are sure to entertain, inspire and awe! I would like to say “Thank You” to the wonderful casts, crews and orchestra, the creative teams and designers, the spectacular MTW staff and especially you - our patrons - for continuing to support live theatre. There have been years and months of singing, dancing, designing, auditioning, building and planning by many, many people that has culminated in the show you are about to see but if you didn't show up it would all be for naught. So, again, we thank you and we hope you enjoy the show!
We invite you to experience our service-focused approach to helping you achieve your financial goals.
BRIAN J. MARCUM Artistic Director ANGELA CASSETTE Managing DirectorThe 2023 season has arrived! We are in the midst of some uniquely challenging years for funding and pandemic recovery - which makes the return of the season exponentially more joyful. This is the time when the hard work behind-thescenes is seen on the stage, when supporters and staff and ticket holders realize that while we can't all get up on stage to sing and dance, we do all have a role to play! Thank you for being part of our productions this year. We couldn't do it without you.
Welcome back to MTWichita!
To all of our long-time patrons and new friends, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your tremendous support. The staff, performers, and artists of MTWichita have put all of their creativity and imagination into producing Broadway shows that are sure to delight!
This year’s season will take us on an emotional journey from the fun of Rock of Ages and Red, White, & Broadway, to the fantasy and beauty of Beauty and the Beast and Cats, to the social commentary of Ragtime. Yet, each show contains undeniable truths of human nature. I am constantly amazed by the theatre’s ability to be joyful, sad, inspiring, challenging, complex, and thought-provoking, while allowing us to reflect upon our own lives.
For over 50 years, Music Theatre Wichita has been a cultural anchor for the City of Wichita. This amazing 2023 season is a tribute to the commitment and passion of MTWichita staff, artists, and volunteers. Like many other arts organizations, the aftermath of the pandemic continues to take its toll on MTWichita. But, as we focus on rebuilding, MTWichita will continue to do what it does best – entertain and educate.
I am extraordinarily grateful for the unparalleled honor to serve as Board President for Music Theatre Wichita these two past years and grateful for everyone who has stepped up to help us meet this moment. Under the guidance of Managing Director, Angela Cassette, Artistic Director, Brian J. Marcum, and our extremely talented and dedicated staff, MTWichita will remain a national artistic treasure in 2023 and beyond.

We’ve learned over 145 years that shared experiences strengthen our community. It’s why we value hallmarks like Music Theatre Wichita and why we’re honored to help its legacy endure. As a proud Show Sponsor, we’re excited to support another extraordinary season and look forward to many more.
Expert care comes from experience. For 30 years we’ve provided personal memory care to our residents through all stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia. And we’ve done it while providing them a home where they can maintain a sense of independence. But we’re more than caregivers. We’re also knowledgable guides, helping families find medical and financial resources, discuss tough choices, and establish a care plan for all stages of the disease. We’ve been on this journey many times.
We’re here to help you find a path forward that works best for you and your family.
Let’s have a conversation.

In loving memory of these friends
with condolences to their loved ones.
Robbi C. Heck held a great appreciation for music theatre. More than that, she was exceptional in her encouragement of the performers. Young performers of Music Theatre for Young People, company members of MTWichita, and even seasoned actors were recipients of her words of appreciation for their efforts as she urged them to continue to hone their skills. In acknowledgment of Robbi, this sponsorship is given to the company member who inspires the work of others and encourages them to be the best they can be in the practice of their art.

In the off season, you can find her at PAINTology working with the wonderful Rachel Downs where she gets to work on projects that range from art walls to haunted houses and everything in between. She would like to thank her family on and off stage, with special thanks to her ever-patient partner.
RYAN MORROW (Head of Audio) is back for his 9th season at MTWichita. Not only has he worked in the Wichita area but the Chicago, St. Louis, and Ft. Worth areas as well. When not spending time in a cold, dark theater, you can catch him soaking up the warm rays of the sun. He currently resides in Wichita with his loving family.
MARY SUE DYMAK (Rentals & Inventory Director / Drop Fabricator / Orchestra Pit Manager / Archivist) [whew!] WOW! So many seasons (even with the cancellation of 2020), this officially marks my 48th summer season with the company. Who would have thought that back in 1976, a summer job would turn into such a career!! Being one of the oldest members of the production staff, this will mark stage productions numbering well over 245. In keeping our evergrowing rental business running, I oversee the management of our two warehouse facilities. My life remains happily engaged in larger and more complex tasks working for this fabulous company. I offer my deepest love and respect to all who work in this building and for our organization. Cheers to another fantastic season!
JENNIFER FISHER (Sign Language Interpreter) is honored to return for her 15th season with MTW, having translated and performed over 60 shows. Grateful to all at MTW for the opportunity to create a meaningful performance for the Deaf community. Love to my family Grant, Kara and Stephanie.

ERIC SCIOTTO (Director/Choreographer) Since appearing in the ’96 and ’97 MTW seasons, Eric has performed in countless regional productions, concerts, tours, and 12 Broadway Shows! He's also directed and choreographed numerous plays and musicals and is currently a professor of Musical Theatre at the University of Utah. Eric is thrilled to return for ROA, after choreographing last season's The Wizard of Oz. Thank you, Brian & the MTW team!
BRIAN J. MARCUM (Artistic Director) is honored to lead MTWichita alongside Managing Director Angela Cassette. Originally from Tennessee, Brian spent his early years tap dancing, singing in the church choir, and performing whenever he could. After graduating from Oklahoma City University with a degree in dance performance, Brian spent two summers as an MTW resident ensemble member learning from the master himself, Wayne Bryan. With that arsenal of knowledge under his belt, Brian was able to make a life for himself as a working actor in New York City. Brian was in the original Broadway companies of The Gershwins’ Fascinating Rhythm, Saturday Night Fever, the 2001 TONY winning revival of 42nd Street, and The Boy from Oz starring Hugh Jackman. Brian also appeared on Broadway as a replacement in The Drowsy Chaperone and Spamalot. Brian, along with his wife Jennifer, toured the country with State Fair and Annie Get Your Gun. Brian was the Associate Choreographer of Elf-The Musical on Broadway. He has been seen on television on the TONY awards (twice) and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (thrice). After Broadway, Brian turned his attention to education and became an Associate Professor of Dance in the Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment at Oklahoma City University (his alma mater) for 7 years and an Assistant Professor of Musical Theater at Syracuse University for 4 years. In 2015 during his time at OCU he was invited back to MTW to choreograph Hello, Dolly! and has been back every season since. In 2020, Brian wrote, directed and choreographed MTW’s Holiday Special for the local PBS station, KPTS, and was nominated for an EMMY. He is ecstatic to be in this new role of artistic director. Honoring what came before him, Brian is immensely grateful to be able to share his love, excitement and knowledge with MTW audiences. Brian and Jennifer and their children Sophie and Felix love calling Wichita home!
