WELCOME

TO THE SHOW

Welcome to the 2025 Season! We are so glad you are here! These five fantastic shows are filled with tunes by some of America's finest songwriters. With greats like the Gershwins and Rodgers and Hammerstein, contemporary voices Sara Bareilles and Alan Menken, combined with the hilarity of the writing team of Something Rotten!, this season has something for everyone! Add the spectacular casts, creative teams, and the many artisans that have worked so hard to bring these shows to you and we have a summer of musical theatre that you will not easily forget! We couldn't and wouldn't want to do it without you. So, thank you for being here and continuing to support live theater and helping Music Theatre Wichita add to the economic and social impact of our great city!

Howerton+White is a proud marketing partner of Music Theatre Wichita.

Music Theatre Wichita's 2025 season promises to be memorable, as we serve up a mix of heartfelt storytelling, dazzling choreography, and classic Broadway music. After it was originally programmed during our 2020 season, it's particularly gratifying to share the regional premiere of Something Rotten! this season. These productions celebrate creativity, resilience, and community—values we hold dear both on and off the stage. Thank you for continuing to support MTWichita and for sharing these unforgettable moments with us. We’re so glad you’re here. Enjoy the show!

“Opening Up”

A MESSAGE FROM BOARD

PRESIDENT PAUL WIT TE

Welcome to the 54th season at Music Theatre Wichita! Since our founding in 1972, MTWichita has been more than just a theatre company—its been a vital part of our community’s cultural fabric. In Wichita, summer doesn’t officially begin until our season kicks off. Families plan vacations, weddings, and reunions around our show dates, and with each season comes the promise of new memories, timeless music, and shared experiences.

But our impact doesn’t stop at the footlights. MTWichita has become a training ground for some of the nation’s brightest rising stars, drawing students from top collegiate theatre programs who come to hone their craft. As a passionate advocate for musical theatre, I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen an MTWichita alum shining on regional stages, national tours, and of course on Broadway. No wonder there’s a widely held expression in the Broadway community: “the quickest way to Broadway is through Wichita.”

And behind all this magic? A brilliant team of theatre wizards. Our Managing Director, the ever-resourceful Angela Cassette, and our Artistic Director, the visionary Brian J. Marcum, lead an extraordinary staff who juggle spreadsheets, spotlights, wigs, and sometimes mayhem with equal finesse. Without their passion, professionalism, and caffeine-fueled wizardry, none of this would happen.

Let me take this moment to say thank you. Your support—your clapping, your cheering, your ticket-buying, generous-donating, season-subscriptionholding fabulousness—is what keeps the lights on, the costumes stitched, and the jazz hands jazzing.

So sit back, relax, and get ready to be transported. Let stirring melodies, powerful storytelling, and unforgettable performances move you. Here’s to another season of laughter, inspiration, and pure theatrical joy.

A day at the Zoo is more than just a visit—it’s an adventure filled with wonder, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Come grow with us at the Sedgwick County Zoo.

Plan your adventure today!

(1st National Tour), Rock of Ages (Broadway & Original Toronto Company); Mary Poppins (1st National Tour); Mary Poppins & Sweeney Todd (FLMF); Workshops, readings, concerts, Film and TV. At the Wichita Foundation, we fund what’s often overlooked: leadership, strategy, and infrastructure. We're a launchpad for critical conversations and are ready to lead the way in changing Wichita's culture of giving.

Because it’s the behind-the-scenes work that makes nonprofits — and our city — stronger.

SAM HARVEY (Shakespeare) is a born and raised Nebraska Cornhusker who has resided in NYC for the last decade as a professional actor. Sam has been seen around the country as Stacee Jaxx in the 10th Anniversary tour of Rock of Ages, and around the world in multiple other shows. He is so grateful to the team here for giving him the opportunity to crack some eggs with this outrageously talented cast. He’s got immense gratitude for his family, agents and mostly grateful for his beautiful wife and hero Katie. If music be the food of love, play on. MARY SUE DYMAK (Rentals & Inventory Director / Drop Fabricator / Orchestra Pit Manager / Archivist) [whew!] WOW!!!!!! I made it to the golden 50th season! So many productions (I’ve lost count), so many drops and drapes built (I’ve lost count), so many trucks loading and unloading (I’ve lost count), so many orchestra pits to set up (I’ve lost count), so many rentals (I’ve lost count). What an organization! To be a part of creating shows and seeing the young professionals both on and off stage start here to go onto other companies and begin their careers has become an honor and privilege. I respect the knowledge and talent of so many people that have passed my way over the years. The people I have come to know and admire that have stayed oh so briefly but left their mark on this fabulous organization are truly amazing. Congratulations on the 2025 season (MTW’s 54th). Let’s celebrate! JMM/JH/WB......thank you. P.S. Shouldn’t I get a car? LOL...

She would like to thank her Father for the gift of a joyous life, her friends and colleagues, and all of life’s little moments for creating stories that are worth sharing.

ENDOWED SPONSORSHIP

Robbi C. Heck held a great appreciation for music theatre. More than that, she was exceptional in her encouragement of the performers. Young performers of Music Theatre for Young People, company members of MTWichita, and even seasoned actors were recipients of her words of appreciation for their efforts as she urged them to continue to hone their skills. In acknowledgment of Robbi, this sponsorship is given to the company members who inspire the work of others and encourage them to be the best they can be in the practice of their art.

Caleb Sporrer Lacey Jack (Shows 3-5)

The two Robbi Heck Encourager Sponsorship designees for 2025 are Caleb Sporrer and Lacey Jack! Both returning for their second summers at MTWichita, Caleb and Lacey each exhibit leadership onstage and off, lifting up their colleagues, and bringing positive energy to the production process.

Expert care comes from experience. For 30 years we’ve provided personal memory care to our residents through all stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia. And we’ve done it while providing them a home where they can maintain a sense of independence. But we’re more than caregivers. We’re also knowledgable guides, helping families find medical and financial resources, discuss tough choices, and establish a care plan for all stages of the disease. We’ve been on this journey many times. We’re here to help you find a path forward that works best for you and your family. Let’s have a conversation.

DONORS

The generosity of our donors makes all we do possible. The list below reflects total giving to MTWichita’s general operations over the past year, including memorial gifts. To learn more about how your support can make an impact, please contact Carter at carter@mtwichita.org.
