Water Tender 41 was dispatched to the Sand Fire on Friday, July 22. Captain Greg Christmas and Engineer Ted Walters were assigned to Division Z at Disney's Golden Oak Ranch. Captain Brent Bartlett relieved Captain Christmas on July 26th. As of August 2nd more than 38,000 acres had burned and the fire was 100% contained. United States Forest Service, Los Angeles County Fire and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office are in ”Unified Command.” Evacuations are in place. 3048 firefighters are engaged in initial attack. Resources include 335 engines, 58 hand crews, 18 water tenders, 26 helicopters and 20 dozers.

STONEGATE The Planning and Community Preservation Department is continuing to review the resubmitted applications for Hillside Development Permits and Conditional Use Permits for properties within the Stonegate development. The Department received resubmittals the week of May 9, 2016 consisting of Lots 7, 21, and 22, and resubmittals the week of June 6, 2016 for Lots 1 and 2. The plans will be reviewed by staff prior to being scheduled before the Planning Commission at a noticed public hearing. The Department did not receive any new applications or resubmittals the week of July 25, 2016.
