Jazz hands and spirit fngers at the ready...

I’m delighted to welcome you to a completely sold-out Junior Theatre Festival Europe! This year, we are proud to host 64 incredible groups from all corners of the continent — from every part of the UK, to France, Norway, Italy, Malta, Czechia, Georgia, and Ireland. Welcome to each and every one of you.

This year, we are delighted to welcome back so many familiar faces — groups and friends who have been part of the JTF universe for years — as well as those who are joining us for the very frst time. Whether you’re a seasoned Festival-goer or stepping into the ICC for the frst time, you are now part of the JTF family.

In a day flled with incredible performances, I’m thrilled to have such widespead support from the West End community this year. We can’t wait to chat with the amazing Alistair Brammer during the day and to enjoy a very special performance from the sensational Lucie Jones at the Awards Ceremony. What a way to celebrate the power of theatre together!

To all of you brilliant young performers: have fun, be proud, and savour every moment. I can’t wait to see what you’ve created. And of course, a huge thank you must go to the unsung heroes of JTF Europe — the teachers and group leaders who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make all of the magical moments possible. On behalf of everyone at MTI, iTheatrics and all of your students, friends

and parents, let me extend our deepest thanks for your incredible dedication and passion. You really are changing the world one musical at a time.

I’m excited for you all to see the hard work that’s been put in by students at the British Theatre Academy and at Stagecoach Cambridge & Cambourne. They’ve been rehearsing for the New Works Showcase for weeks, and I can say you’re in for a treat as they premiere segments from 9 to 5 JR and Disney’s Alice in Wonderland JR

In a world where our political leaders might make choices that divide us, theatre reminds us of what we share: our stories, our dreams, and our humanity. It has a unique power to bring people together, to bridge gaps, and to create something beautiful out of difference. Today, you are part of something bigger — a community united by music, movement, laughter, and a love of the stage.

Have an amazing day. Jazz hands up, fre those spirit fngers... and break a leg!

So help me Sondheim,

NEW WORKS SHOWCASE
