FRIDA KAHLO WINES

- New & Notable -

The grapes were handpicked from a single estate vineyard, located on an alluvial terrace in Maipo Valley. Alcoholic fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks at 28º-29º C. The total maceration period was between 14-22 days. Aged for 14 months in a combination of French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks.

Deep, intense, ruby-red in color. Aromas of black currants, blackberries, and licorice with smooth, elegant cedar notes. The palate is rich and generous yet fresh and vibrant. The wine has abundant fruit and firm tannins that lend structure and depth.

A blend of Cabernet, Carmenere, Syrah and Merlot from a single estate vineyard located in the foothills of Apalta in the Colchagua Valley where slopes composed of granitic soils with some clay help moderate vigor. The climate is Mediterranean with warm days and cool nights. Grapes were handpicked and carefully selected before crushing. Alcoholic fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks at 28º-29ºC. The total maceration period was 14-18 days. The wine aged in French oak barrels for 14 months.

Intense dark purple color. The nose is rich, showing ripe berries, sweet spices and tobacco. Silky tannins give a soft and almost sweet mouthfeel, balanced with a concentrated palate and great length.

TWO OCEANS

- New & Notable -

At the southern tip of Africa, you will find a natural wonder that is as dramatic as it is awe-inspiring. It is where two powerful forces, the mighty Atlantic and Indian oceans, meet. The sheer scale and natural grandeur will give you pause and a chance to reflect, leaving you inspired, exhilarated and breathless.

Inspired by this special place – where the right elements of climate, natural beauty and world-class winemakers combine to create wines that are crisp, refreshing and as easy drinking as the easy-going, hospitable place that it comes from.

Grapes were sourced from vineyards in the Stellenbosch, Darling, Coastal and Paarl regions. The vines, between 10 and 18 years of age at the time of harvesting, were grown in soils with excellent drainage, ranging from decomposed granite to deep Clovelly and Hutton.

Located some 200m above sealevel, the vineyards are trellised while appropriate canopy management and row orientation minimizes wind damage. The grapes were harvested between 21° and 23° Balling without skin contact. The juice was racked into various tanks for fermentation. A selection of yeasts and yeast combinations were used to obtain a broad spectrum of intense aromas and flavours. Fermentation occurred at 16° Celsius and lasted for about 14 days. The wine was racked off its lees and the various tanks interblended. www.twooceanswines.com

Crafted with the fresh citrus essence of Sicilian orange juice and Calabrian bergamot, together with fine Italian sparkling wine, Granriviera Mimosa is more than a drink - It’s an invitation to savor the authentic flavors and elegance of Italy.

- New & Notable -

Chardonnay shows up in some remarkably diverse places but few as breathtaking as the Roussillon, where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean. From vineyards, just a stone’s throw from the beach and within view of the historic Mont Canigou, Eric Solomon and Jean-Marc Lafage have created Novellum, a refined, aromatic, and elegant Chardonnay that is aged in tank (80%) and neutral French barrels(20%). www.europeancellars.com

LES JAMELLES

- New & Notable -

If one had to sum up the history of Les Jamelles wines in a few words, “the fruit of auspicious encounters” would be the natural choice… The history of these wines has been punctuated by several more or less fortuitous encounters that led to the creation of the brand in the early 1990s and to its development over the last two decades.

It was inevitable that Catherine, the daughter of Beaujolais winegrowers, and Laurent, representing the 5th generation of a family of Burgundian negociants, meet at university in 1986 where they were both studying oenology.

Winemaker Catherine Delaunay is passionate about the diversity of wines and vineyards and possessed by a love for the earth and a penchant for well-executed work. She considers her cuvées as moments of pleasure for those who taste them. The harmony between the wine, the context, and the people who share in its enjoyment represents her vision of the perfect accord. www.grapejuicegroup.com

NEW YORK COCKTAIL COMPANY

The New York Cocktail Company (NYCC) was created to fill a key gap in the ready to serve market - premium and innovative cocktails, crafted by some of world’s best bartenders. The launch will showcase four variations of the “bartenders favorite”, The Negroni. The four skus will include; a dry and aromatic classic Negroni; a cacao driven chocolate Negroni; the espresso Negroni and a mezcalito. Made with real ingredients from local producers such as Brooklyn Gin and Faccia Brutto Aperitivos, married with the best Italian vermouths from Mancino Vermouths, NYCC cocktails are crafted to perfection (no stirring or shaking required) and presented in a timeless decanter-style 375ml bottle. These four versions of the Negroni need only be poured over ice, garnished and served in fine cocktail glassware for a drink that will stand up to anything ordered at the world’s best cocktail bars.

Copley Gin is an ultra-smooth, small-batch gin imported from The Netherlands. Crafted with the highest quality botanicals, Copley Gin imparts notes of juniper, coriander, angelica, orange, almond and pepper.

Old Mexico is an artisanal, small batch Tequila - crafted with the highest percentage of Mexican Agave. Our Premium Quality shines through in both aroma and taste, making it the optimum choice for your next margarita!

We start with ripe Blue Agave picked at the peak of maturity from the fields of Jalisco, Mexico. The most flavorful part of the Agave—the “Pineapple”-is slow cooked for several days in traditional Brick and Stone Ovens. The juice from the cooked Agave is then slowly extracted using traditional “Molino” Mills that help retain more flavor.

The agave is then mixed with a small amount of pure cane sugar and slow fermentation for up to 48 hours takes place in Traditional Open Tanks. The fermented juice is distilled twice in single batches using Traditional Copper Pot Stills to produce our Old Mexico Tequila. Our careful attention to these artisanal, traditional slow production methods allow us to achieve an exceptional Tequila in both quality and taste.
