STAGE ONE: JOEY The first stage of a kangaroo is a joey. When a baby joey is born, it is the size of a jellybean! It doesn't have any eyes or legs. After four weeks, the joey can climb up to its mother's teat. It is nearly 4 inches (10 cm) long.
