‘WORK HARD, BE KIND AND AMAZING THINGS WILL LL HAPPEN’ HAPPEN BY CONAN O’BRIEN

Welcome Back by Mr Luke Chaeter, Head of British Primary Section Dear Parents and guardians, Firstly, I would like to welcome both new and existing parents back for the 2019-20 2019 academic year. It has been an absolute pleasure meeting both students and parents. It has been evident from the onset, that the ethos within the section is one of friendliness friendli and support, which myself and family have experienced first hand. Walking around the school this week has been a fantastic experience, children have been exceptional, and a real buzz of learning has been emanating from the classrooms. I would also likee to welcome all new staff who have integrated with ease into the British Primary Section, all excited to be working in such a wonderful setting, with children who are engaged and have an attitude which exudes all the values which the school embeds, Respec Respect, Responsibility, Perseverance, Creativity and Participation. As a school, we pride ourselves on ensuring that all students access the very best, and this was further exemplified in a rigorous induction and staff training schedule which all participated in i the fortnight before the students returned to school. A particular emphasis on phonics within the early years and KS1 was the focus, ensuring that we provide a consistent and successful strategy to enable all children to succeed in reading, the cornerstone cornerst of all learning. Further information regarding this will be in future additions of the newsletter, as well as other initiatives designed to ensure that all children succeed. During the upcoming weeks, I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible, possib as I am a firm believer that a positive relationship between home and school is imperative, and would like to reassure you that if you do have any questions or concerns, myself, and the rest of the School Leadership Team will do our very best to alleviate ate these. Thank you all for a making myself and the rest of the team very welcome, and look forward to working with you all to ensure that your children all reach and exceed their potential!

Best wishes, Luke Chaeter

As we move further into the 21st Century, it is essential that children become confident with technology. It is however more important that children learn the skills to self select the correct technology, and even question whether it provides value for a specific task. Purple Mash is a cloud based technology that all children will have access to support learning, which children, if they wish can access at home. Messages from Mr Luke Chaeter Safeguarding It is an honor that you have chosen the British Primary Section as the school for your children! It is with this in mind, that the ultimate ingredient for success, is a safe and secure environment for all students who are re on the school grounds. Please do not be offended if I, or any other member of staff challenge you if you are not wearing your security pass. We recognise the responsibility that you have given us, a responsibility that we hold dearly!

Class Representatives We Want You! Shortly, you will be informed of how you can become a Class Representative. The role has 3 main aspects: Welcoming – organising coffee mornings for class parents; parents Events planning – organising parental support for class parties and events Support – helping in class and on trips, enlisting parents to make show costumes etc etc. This is a very important role and can really help your child’s class over the course of the upcoming academic year.

Health and Safety We want to ensure that children experience learning both within and outside of the classroom environment. As this is the case, please can you ensure that your children do not come to school with hooped earrings, necklaces, rings or bracelets, as these could catch and cause harm, particularly in PE sessions. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

School Bus Unfortunately, and apologetically, the school bus service has not been operating to the high standards that we expect. I would like to reassure all parents that a full investigation into this issue is ongoing. This is not acceptable!

BP PTA WhatsApp Group Our Parent-Teacher Teacher Association has now created a BP PTA 19/20 WhatsApp Group. Please lease join this group if you want to bee actively involved in PTA activities, just scan the QR Code. Also, the he PTA will hold their first meeting on Friday th 30 August at 2pm in the EPC Amphitheatre.

Legacy Art by Mr Craig Gamble You may have noticed a few new artistic additions to the campus on your return this week. As well as being a fabulous, hard working Year 3 teacher Ms Liufalani has spent many hours last year working with children from all sections creating works of art to display around the campus. There are two major projects on display, the first of which is a series of hearts that were created by children from the British Section during the Have A Go day last year that was linked to our Learner Profile. The second work that you can see near the central playground was created by children from m all sections and is designed to display the main cultural influences at our school. I'm sure su you will agree that as well as adding some colour and brightening up our day they are indeed a great legacy for the students, and Ms Liufalani, to leave behind them as they continue on their educational journey.

Curriculum Information Evening by Mr Aidan Stallwood Our school Curriculum Information Evening is nearly upon us. Below you will see the schedule for the evening. We welcome all parents to attend and hear from the teaching staff about what your children will learn this year as well as other valuable information. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
