Benefit from the Noise

After two years of modular and online classes, Isabelo delos Reyes Elementary School (IRES) is back in action.

As the students are back in-person, so are the works and whatnot inside the campus. Currently, the school is being renovated due to the dangers the school's old buildings pose. However, this seems to have caused a problem - one of which is the lack of classrooms.

Because of it, the school came up with a solution that the children in the afternoon and morning would divide the room amongst them, hoping that this will ease the temporary burden.

The renovation of the school causes fumes, and an unpleasant smell for students, teachers and parents. The exit and entry of students were hindered as well.

Will the school arrangement affect the students?

It will; but this will greatly benefit us students due to the fact that we will be indulging in new and improved classrooms.

Nevertheless, children may get sick because of the fumes it emits, and because of the loud noise made by the repair, teachers cannot teach properly.

In my opinion, construction in school should be held whenever there are no students inside. I believe it is better if they continue doing it during the upcoming children's vacation.

If the practice is done during the vacation, the children will be able to avoid disturbances or any form of illness.

The construction may have brought annoyance to the learners and teachers alike, but the product of this will be well worth it.

Being a teacher is hard. You need longer patience but once you see your students happy you feel better because all your hard work is worth it. Mrs. Ramelita Domecillo-Rafa (Ma'am /Mrs. Rafa) is a MAPEH teacher hailing from Isabelo delos Reyes Elementary School who participated in a contest for outstanding teacher Mrs Rafa said "When I was a child, I looked forward to becoming an office girl, cashier, and sometimes becoming a teacher because that's what we often played"

Having many dreams as a child, she didn't expect to end up as a teacher someday Mrs Rafa had a very hard time before she became a lovely teacher. "I grew up without knowing who my father was. It was a bit difficult for my mom to be alone in everything, especially when I was going to college" she said

Mrs. Rafa chose to be a teacher because her mother is a teacher too. Sometimes when there is a program in school her mom took her and she thought it’s fun.

Every person has a person who pushed them in making or achieving their dream or anything same as Ma'am Rafa. "The people who pushed me before I became a teacher were, of course, my mother who is now gone, my grandfather and grandmother, and when I got married, of course my husband" Mrs. Rafa recalled.

Doing your job needed to be fun and happy because once you feel lonely about your job it won't be worth it

Is being teacher is fun? Ma'am Rafa remarked, "Yes! However it's inevitable to feel tired, yet when you see your children learning and happy every time they enter your classroom, that's what gives me strength… that I need to improve in practicing my profession because these children depend on me for learning.”

When asked what her thoughts were upon entering the contest, she uttered "I had no plans, but suddenly my master teacher told me that there will be a search for outstanding teacher and encouraged me to join. I was trying to gather all the papers I need and braced myself for the ordeal of going through the search. I'm happy especially because of my students who supports me and so do their parents and of course, the principal for her unfailing love and support so I'm very grateful to everyone. "

As her student who personally sees her on a daily, having her as a teacher is enjoyable because she's very fun, happy, and really pretty! When the search begun Ma'am Rafa used our section in her contest which was nerve wrecking for me because it's my first time to be in that situation But, all of our hard work was worth it because Ma'am Rafa ranked fourth, bringing pride and joy to our alma mater I'm so grateful to have met such a wonderful person as Ma'am Rafa. We love her so much and I hope she’ll have more special things in life to come and achieve
