MESSAGE FROM THE COUNTY CHAIR

Wow what a night Chairman's Ball was, we had over 6 months preparing for 6 days setting up for 6 amazing hours of partying. We spiced things up this year with DJ Bulge, Guest DJ Dan Morgan and The Wildfire providing the tunes, with the Dodgems and Bucking Beer Bottle to have fun on outside. There was fantastic turnout with people from all over England and Wales in attendance and even a few Kiwi’ s. I’ ve heard such positive things from everyone so hopefully next year can be a great bash for Millie’ s Ball. A huge thank you has to go out to all those that have helped with ball, to the members who came and set up, the stewards who helped on the night and to Lucy for being a super organised Chairmans Ball Secretary.

Whilst I’ ve been busy having a ball, Millie and the county team have been racing around the county getting to all the clubs Pre AGM’ s and AGM’ s. Its great to see lots of new club officers getting keen to take over the reins of their club and bring new ideas for the forthcoming year. I hope they are all looking forward to Millie’ s officer training weekend, she’ s been planning it since last year so it going to fantastic and certainly not a weekend to be missed by your new club top table.

Thanks, Max

Message from the Vice County Chair

Hi Everyone, those that don’t know me, I’ m Millie and can ’t wait to take on County Chairman at the AGM in October. I’ ve had a brilliant year being Max’ s vice. I’ ve got lots of exciting ideas and events planned, all will be released at the County AGM. I’ ve got a fab new County Officer team, so please make sure you keep sending your county reps to meetings to find out the information to take back to your clubs! I hope that this year I’ll be able to pop to some of your business meetings and events. I’ m always on the end of the phone and happy to help where I can!

This year I hope to offer YFC members with invaluable training opportunities, and a Rural Youth Careers fair in November - it doesn’t matter if you ’ ve got a job, looking for a new one or a career change, doing your GCSE’ s, A-Levels or University degree, come and have a chat with some amazing local businesses and see what they have to offer and learn more about what they do at Shrewsbury Livestock Market! Make it a club night, bring your siblings, friends, family - everyone of all ages welcome! Don’t forget officer training, will be held on Saturday 5th October at Dunfield House, Kington. It’ s really important that all club and county officers come along to the training, to learn more about their role, what is expected from a club and county perspective. It’ll also be a great day to get to know the County team and all other club officers that you can work and share knowledge with during your year!

This year, we start at 9.30am, you ’ll be given lunch and dinner! A full day of training which will give you all the tools to help you in your year as a top table member! In the evening we ’ll be going out out mystery location! Unfortunately if you are under 18, you are expected to come for the training if you can, but unfortunately not able to stop the night.

Also, best of luck to Beckie from Whittington & Oswestry YFC who is competing in the National YFC finals of Junior Stockman of the year and good luck to the members who are competing in the National Cookery and Flower arranging finals at the end of September

See you soon,
