Landscaping Grade Level: 10-12 Credits: .5 Length: 1 semester Considerations: This class is a good sequence with Plant Science. Course Description: Students will learn about landscape design and implementation of landscaping practices. Students will complete a 20 hour outside of class individual project as a portion of their grade for this class.

Agricultural Business and Marketing Grade Level: 11-12 Credits: 1 Length: 2 semesters Considerations: This class is a good sequence with Plant Science or Animal Science. Course Description: This course is designed to be an introduction to agribusiness management in the free enterprise system with an emphasis on management of production agriculture. Instruction includes a study of basic management concepts, government policy, economic principles, budgeting, accounting, finance, risk management, and factors of production and marketing. Projects will involve discussion of current agricultural topics and developing a marketing plan for your own business.

KCC:Precision Farming Systems Grade Level: 11-12 Credits: .5 Length: 1 semester Considerations: This is a concurrent Kirkwood Community College. This is a challenging, college level course. This course is offered every other year and will be available during the 2021-2022 school year. This class is a good sequence with Plant Science. Course Description: This course is intended to serve students who are interested in learning about GPS/GIS (Global Positioning Systems/Geographic Information Systems). This course provides students with an introduction to the components, capabilities, and functionalities of GPS/GIS through lectures and use of ArcView software. Grade Level: 9-12 Credits: .5 Length: 1 semester Course Description: Trends in education for the future demand computer literacy. This class will teach students the basics of Microsoft Office. Included will be units in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. While this introductory "hands on" course is open to all students, it should seriously be considered by students their freshmen year.
