YCW held out a valiant Langwarrin side to run away with the game in the final quarter to record their 8th win of the season. Lane Meyer was excellentlastweek,withhisrun-and-carryandball standingoutintoughconditionslastweek.MattLa Fontaine,MattTroutbeckandDarcyMurrwerealso standouts whilst Brenton Lambert almost single handily turned the momentum of the game in the second half with some crucial goals at important pointsinthegame.
Sorrento recorded a big win against local rivals Rosebud in Round 10 as they moved to 5-5 so far this season to keep their finals hopes very much alive. Shannon Gladman starred against the Buds, and alongside Liam McKenna and Myles Poholke helped the Sharks overwhelm Rosebud. Chad HarriswasanotherwelcomeinclusionforSorrento, recorded a season-high 45 disposals to go alongside 12 marks and 5 clearances in an eyecatchingreturnforSorrento.

Pines are coming off perhaps their best win of the season as they were able to travel to Emil Madsen ReserveanddefeatastrongMt.Elizasideandwalk away with the 4-points. The Bombers also had a goodwinlastweek,astheytoppledBonbeachina tough encounter which saw the boys from Baxter Parkmoveto3rdontheDivisionOneladder.
Seth Harris was prolific in a good win for the Bombers,gathering34disposalsandrunninghard all day to help his side to earn the 4-points in blustery conditions at Baxter Park. Pines will need to keep an eye on midfield bull Alex Harnett who playedastarringroleintheBombersRound10win over Bonbeach. Harnett had 36 disposals and 11 clearances in a dominant display for the Bombers and has been one of Frankston’s best performers sofarin2023.
In Pines’ big victory, it was Ned Moodie, Jarrod Richards and Guy Hendry who starred as the Pythons announced themselves as genuine contenders in season 2023. Moodie worked hard up-and-downthegroundalldayandwasanaerial threat in blustery conditions, finishing with a goal from 20 disposals to help lead his side to victory. Experienced ex-AFL star Shane Savage was best afield however, with his 34 disposals and 3 goals being crucial for the Pythons and will need to be monitored closely by the Bombers if they wish to derailthisoncomingPinestrain.
