¿Qué es Sky Gran Canaria?

BeyondThe Coast Sky Gran Canaria es una carrera de montaña que cuenta con varias modalidades de competición que se adaptan a los perfiles de cada corredor, que podrá seleccionar su distancia en función de su capacidad.

La carrera recorre la isla de Gran Canaria con llegada al Puerto de Las Nieves, enAgaete.Asciende al punto más elevado de la isla de Gran Canaria, el Pico de las Nieves con sus 1.954 metros de altitud.Atraviesa las presas más grandes de la isla recorriendo gran parte de los municipios de San Bartolomé deTirajana,Artenara,Tejeda, Guía, Vega de San Mateo, Valleseco yAgaete, municipio sede del evento.

La carrera

El evento se celebrará los días 13, 14 y 15 de octubre. Todas las distancias de competición están abiertas a la participación popular (OPEN).

En 2023, la sexta edición de Sky Gran Canaria acogerá la Finalissima de la Copa del Mundo del circuito internacional de la World Mountain RunningAssociation (WMRA), avalada por la WorldAthletics (WA).Asimismo, la SKY TAA50 acogerá al Campeonato de Canarias de UltraTrail Absoluto de la Federación Canaria deAtletismo.

El viernes 13 de octubre tendrá lugar la SKYA6 VERTICAL OPEN y Finalissima Copa del Mundo modalidad UPHILL6 Km.

El sábado 14 de octubre se celebrará la SKYTPT35 OPEN y Finalissima Copa del Mundo modalidad LONG DISTANCE 35 Km.

Yel domingo 15 de octubre la SKYTAA50 OPEN y Campeonato de Canarias distancia Ultra running 50 Km., y la SKYAA21 OPEN y Finalissima Copa del Mundo modalidad CLASSIC 21 Km.

Serán tres días del más puro trail running, con elTop Mundial masculino y femenino en cada una de las distancias.

The Race

The event will be held on October 13, 14 and 15.All competition distances are open to popular participation (OPEN).

On Friday , October 13, the SKYA6 VERTICALOPEN and Finalissima World Cup modality UPHILL6 Km will take place.

On Saturday , October 14, the SKYTPT35 OPEN and Finalissima World Cup LONG DISTANCE 35 Km modality will be held .

And on Sunday , October 15, the SKYTAA50 OPEN and Canary Islands Ultra Running Championship distance 50 km, and the SKYAA21 OPEN and Finalissima World Cup CLASSIC 21 km modality

It will be three days of the purest trail running, with the men's and women's WorldTop in each of the distances.

La TRAILSKY TAA50 otorga 2 puntos ITRA. El recorrido de la ultramaratón TRAILSKY TAA50 (TUNTE-ARTENARA-AGAETE) es una carrera que tiene todo lo que a un skyrunner le encanta: subidas duras, pero no muy largas; senderos para correr; bajadas técnicas; un paisaje que atraviesa bosques, presas y que en todo momento tiene unas vistas espectaculares; mayor porcentaje de descenso que de ascenso; y un final en el Puerto de Las Nieves que harán que disfrutes esta carrera a tope en sus 50 Kms de recorrido por la isla, pasando por el punto más alto a 1.956 metros de altitud.

Es un recorrido que tiene más de un 84% de senderos, siendo en el tramo de salida y el tramo de llegada donde se concentran los tramos de asfalto

El recorrido discurre por los municipios de San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Vega de San Mateo, Tejeda, Guía, Artenara y Agaete. Parte desde el bonito y acogedor pueblo de Tunte (San Bartolomé de Tirajana), asciende por el camino de Santiago hasta la Degollada de Cruz Grande para subir la emblemática vía de LA PLATA hasta el punto más alto de la isla con sus 1.956 m. A partir de aquí continúa un largo y bonito recorrido por las crestas de la zona norte y centro de la isla hasta comenzar la bajada desde Tamadaba al Puerto de Las Nieves, en Agaete, donde su playa y sus piscinas naturales te estarán esperando

The route of the ultra SKYTAA50, which starts from Tunte (Tunte-Artenara-Agaete), offers everything a skyrunner loves: hard climbs, but not very long; running trails; technical descents; a landscape that crosses forests, dams and that at all times has spectacular views; greater percentage of decline than promotion; and a finish in Puerto de Las Nieves that will make you enjoy this race to the fullest in its 50 kilometers of route around the island.

It is a distance that has more than 84% of trails, with the asphalt areas concentrated in the departure section and the arrival section.

The route passes through the municipalities of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Vega de San Mateo, Tejeda, Guía, Artenara and Agaete. La Finalissima de la Copa del Mundo Long Distance de Valsir Mountain Running tendrá su cita en esta nueva modalidad, la SKYTPT35

El trazado es un NUEVO RECORRIDO de 35 kilómetros, con salida y meta en Tunte, que combina una vertical inicial de más de 1.100 metros positivos, hasta el punto más alto de la isla.

Este recorrido partirá desde la Plaza de Santiago, junto a la Iglesia de Tunte (San Bartolomé de Tirajana), en el mismo pueblo.

Un recorrido muy especial que sube hasta el Pico de Las Nieves a 1.953 metros de altitud, para luego descender y subir hasta la plataforma del emblemático Roque Nublo a 1.745 m, lugar donde se encuentra el centro geográfico de la isla de Gran Canaria, para luego volver a afrontar el largo y bello descenso del Camino de La Plata y una última subida al Morro de La Cruz Grande a 1.529 metros de altitud y un último descenso hasta los 874 metros de la meta.

La distancia SKYAA21 puntúa con 1 punto ITRA.

La más corta de las distancias de la competición, parte del pueblo de Artenara, la cota más alta de Gran Canaria, y recorre uno de los senderos más bellos de la isla, conectando Artenara con Tamadaba, uno de los pinares más frondosos y el pulmón de Gran Canaria.

Esta ruta, que serpentea hacia abajo, nos descubre gran parte de la zona oeste, con la isla hermana de Tenerife y con el Teide como testigos constantes.

Una última subida nos llevará al punto más alto de esta ruta, con 1.400 metros de altitud. A partir de aquí comienza un largo y continuo descenso hasta la meta en el Puerto de las Nieves, Agaete, donde las impresionantes vistas de la costa y el camino descendente te harán disfrutar de cada paso de esta modalidad de Sky Gran Canaria.

En esta edición, la SKY AA21 acoge la Finalissima de la distancia Classic de la Copa del Mundo de Valsir Mountain Running.

The shortest of the competition distances, it starts from the town of Artenara , the highest point in Gran Canaria, and runs through one of the most beautiful trails on the island, connecting Artenara with Tamadaba, one of the lushest pine forests and the lung from Gran Canaria.

This route, which winds downwards, reveals a large part of the western area, with the sister island of Tenerife and Mount Teide as constant witnesses.

A final climb will take us to the highest point of this route, with 1,400 meters of altitude. From here begins a long and continuous descent to the finish line in Puerto de las Nieves, Agaete , where the impressive views of the coast and the descending path will make you enjoy every step of this type of Sky Gran Canaria.

Esta nueva vertical se presenta en 2023. El recorrido tiene una distancia de 6,6 km, y la línea de meta está en la Fuente del Cuervo. Alcanza casi mil metros positivos en poco más de seis kilómetros. El formato de competición es de contra reloj. Las salidas para los participantes de la prueba OPEN de la SKY A6 UPHILL serán cada 30 segundos, mientras que los participantes de la Copa del Mundo saldrán con una diferencia de 1 minuto entre cada atleta. El tiempo límite es de dos horas. La zona de meta es cuesta arriba. Los participantes volverán caminando hasta la Era de Berbique, y de ahí a San Pedro para el avituallamiento, que es también el punto de enlace con el casco de Agaete, en el transporte facilitado por la organización.

This new vertical is presented in 2023. The course has a distance of 6.6 km, and the finish line is at Fuente del Cuervo. It reaches almost a thousand positive metres in just over six kilometres. The competition format is a race against time. The starts for the participants of the OPEN race of the SKY A6 VERTICAL will be every 30 seconds, while the participants of the World Cup will start with a difference of 1 minute between each athlete. The time limit is two hours. The finish area is uphill. The participants will walk back to the Era de Berbique, and from there to San Pedro for refreshments, from where the organisation's transport will take the athletes to Agaete.

MATERIAL OBLIGATORIO

Los jueces de la Federación española de atletismo revisarán el material obligatorio indicado en el reglamento Todos los atletas deberán pasar obligatoriamente por los pasillos de acceso a la zona acotada de salida para el control de dorsal y material obligatorio (cámara de llamada). El material obligatorio que se podrá controlar total o parcialmente en salida, recorrido y meta. No portarlo puede ser motivo de penalización y hasta descalificación, por eso es importante que llevéis desde la salida hasta la meta. El uso de bastones está permitido, siempre que se porten desde la salida o se recojan/dejen en los puntos de asistencia personalizada y, en caso de no existir estos puntos, se llegue con ellos a meta. El hecho de dejar o recoger los bastones durante la carrera en puntos no autorizados será sancionado con la descalificación.

En las salidas de la SKY TAA50, SKY AA21, se habilitará la recogida de un bolso: el gymbag entregado en la retirada de dorsales. Sólo se recogerá dicho bolso, ningún otro bolso o mochila diferente se recogerá.

El bolso deberá de estar identificado con la etiqueta que te entregará la organización, y que lo identificará con tu número de dorsal correspondiente. Los bolsos serán llevados por la organización al guardarropa ubicado en el Hotel Puerto de las Nieves.
