Since 1980 mountune has been at the cutting edge of technology for the production of class-leading motorsport components and more recently road car performance upgrades. Our passion for excellence has only grown over this time, as has our product range and our business, now being recognised as a global motorsport and automotive engineering organization, with over 35 years of championship experience.

With facilities in the United Kingdom and the United States, mountune’s proud heritage stems from a superb record of success throughout the world of motorsports. Powering champions...

In 1990, the mountune-powered Ford Sierra RS500 of Robb Gravett won the British Touring Car Championship resulting in mountune supplying race-winning engines to customers around the world.

In the early ‘90s, Group A rallying was the pinnacle of its sport and the works’ Escort Cosworth’s were all powered by mountune-built, 2-litre Ford YB engines.

The mountune-built Ford YB gained global status as the engine to have resulting in podium finishes ranging from touring cars to WRC. 1993 saw Francois Delecour on the podium no less than 6 times finishing in second overall in WRC relying on mountune power. 1994 brought with it more podiums and victory at the Monte Carlo event - won again by Francois Delecour. 1996 was also a fruitful year with a win at the Rally Indonesia and a host of podiums coming from works driver Carlos Sainz – who finished 3rd in the overall drivers’ championship that year too.

1999 was the launch of the Ford Focus WRC and the ‘works’ Focus WRC was powered by a mountune developed Ford Zetec 2-litre turbocharged engine. The highly developed Ford Zetec achieved victories in the famed Safari Rally and many other significant rallies.

ON SITE FACILITIES 11 ENVIRONMENT FOR SUCCESS mountune’s extensive facilities incorporate the latest equipment with engineers that have a wide range of experience preparing and designing professional level motorsport engines.

Our primary operation includes on-site engine build and test facilities which are entrusted with engines for WRX, Global Rallycross, BTCC, CTCC and the entire grid of GRC lites and RX2 engines along with numerous GT, rally and single seat race series engines.

The close relationship between mountune and vehicle manufacturers ensure that we have access to the very latest information with regard to engineering and can advise our customers accordingly.

A comprehensive development programme for each new design ensures that electronic engine management is matched to the mechanical components for optimum performance and reliability.

From the digital world of computer aided design to the real world racetrack, mountune racing leads the way in motorsport and high performance engine design and development.

ENGINE DEVELOPMENT 13 ATTENTION TO DETAIL mountune offers a complete range of professional level engine development services including component design, cylinder head evaluation and clean sheet engine design.

Engines and components are designed to the highest professional standards by mountune’s skilled team using the latest technology and theory.

Our engines are specified for maximum reliable performance and optimized on one of our four engine test cells.

mountune excels in bespoke and custom component design and packaging. Using GT Power simulation and the latest CAD and CAE design tools, each application undergoes careful review of the intended application to ensure reliability and performance.

All of our engines are assembled by highly-skilled technical staff backed by years of knowledge and experience. A comprehensive development program for each new design ensures that electronic engine control management is matched to the mechanical components for optimum performance and reliability.

RACING SERVICES 15

Design. mountune offer engine design services from basic components up to a complete engine design. Extensive on-site CAD and modelling facilities combined with a bank of dedicated engine test and development dyno cells gives us the edge in producing individual components through to the most powerful engines on the grid.

Develop.

Our development and test cells are supported by a range of data acquisition tools and capable of test limits of over 1000 bhp and 11,000rpm. Validation ensures maximum reliable performance.

Part Supply.

Our comprehensive parts and stores department is available to support customers maintaining their own engine build programs as well as supply specific special engine components and technical assistance.

Track Support.

With increased complexity of motorsport electronics for both engine and gearbox strategy, mountune engineers and technicians are available to support customers world-wide at their location or event - whether it’s an installation check, first ‘in chassis’ run, or full championship support.
