DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
As summer winds down, I’m filled with pride and gratitude for all we’ve accomplished. A major highlight was the grand opening of the new Rengstorff Park Aquatics Center, complete with modern amenities, expanded programs, and fresh opportunities for community connection. Thank you to everyone who joined us and brought the space to life.
This spring also marked our first large-scale "Together in Pride" celebration at Civic Center Plaza. It was truly inspiring to see our community come together to honor diversity and inclusion. With colorful décor, live entertainment, and vibrant booths, the event captured the spirit of Mountain View. We’re excited to bring it back next year.
We also opened Evelyn Park, the City’s 46th park, on Evelyn Avenue. This thoughtfully designed 0.68-acre space features naturebased play, native landscaping, and gathering spots. It is also our first park maintained entirely with electric equipment, reflecting our sustainability goals. Kudos to the Parks and Open Space team for making it happen.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to bring you another season of enriching programs, services, and events. Our Special Events lineup includes favorites like the Monster Bash, the Community Tree Lighting Celebration, and other community gatherings such as the Harvest History Festival, Volunteer Fair, and Holiday Bazaar. More details on these events can be found on page 58.
On behalf of the entire Community Services team, thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you this fall at our parks, programs, and events. John Marchant

Silicon Valley Twelfth Night is a modern theatrical production that blends reflections on the AI era with Shakespeare’s classic comedy Twelfth Night. Set in a future where artificial intelligence thrives, the story unfolds in Silicon Valley, now the epicenter of an unprecedented technological revolution. Here, AI not only replaces human labor but also begins to take over human emotions.
Created by people living in Silicon Valley and written specifically for its residents, this play authentically captures the inner world of tech elites in the age of AI. More than just a performance, it is a vivid portrayal of Silicon Valley culture—an absurd carnival of technology, startups, capital, artificial intelligence, and emotional dislocation.
