We are on septic. This means there is a pump that services the water including the toilets. It is important that only toilet paper is flushed. Anything else like feminine products, baby wipes, paper towels or even “flushable wipes” are not allowed. This will cause the pump to fail. Pouring cooking grease down the sink is a problem for the septic system. There is a jar in the drawer below the kitchen sink where you can pour your grease from cooking. Guest will be responsible for repair if any towels, feminine products, or any other items clog the toilets or sinks.

The internet service in the mountains can be challenging at times. If you experience a wifi outage please completely unplug and disconnect the router located next to the dresser in the bedroom on the left at the back of the house. Leave for 10 minutes. Reconnect the lines and power. Wait 5 minutes and check for the connection. Thank you for your patience as service can be intermittent due to mountain location.

A few tips...

P A R K I N G

There is 1 exterior camera facing the front door to note arrival and departure. There are no more cameras on the property. There is an outside motion light and pathway lighting to light your way as you come and go when it is dark.

The door lock can be engaged or opened by entering the four-digit code you were provided. To lock it, pull the door shut (hold the door closed tight so the lock will engage) and enter your code.

The deck can be extremely slippery in the winter from sleet and ice, PLEASE BE AWARE when stepping outside. We have amazing neighbors, please be aware of noise on the back deck after dusk.

IMPORTANT: Do not leave food or drinks outside/inside or other waste that might attract animals. We are in the mountains and wildlife is all around.

Mud Creek Falls – Don’t miss it!

Drive down past the Golf Club from the cabin and take a left on Tahoe Road to the falls. You can take that trail to the Old Covered Bridge – it is amazing! Around a mile and easily walkable.

The weather at this elevation can be unpredictable. Please understand that high winds and snow may cause a power outage. You will find flashlights, candles, plenty of blankets, and batteries have been provided. A wood burning fireplace is available and you may want to purchase firewood on your way up. In case of a power outage I will reach out to you with updates. Georgia Power has a track record of restoring power quickly. Use caution and low speed when driving on the mountain – especially when rain or fog is present. The City of Sky Valley prepares for ice and snow by salting the roads and then clearing the roads after snowfall. Please use your best judgement when travelling in these conditions.
