The idea of the project was to create an educational stream of knowledge that would both serve and integrate local society and industry collectively for the proposed location of the so called "Knowledge Valley", an important ingredient of the developed master plan of Ismailia Governorate in Egypt.

In pursuit of realising such an idea conceptually, a central valley was created comprising the heart of the university campus that joins together the social sciences department that relate contextually with the residential quarters of the proposed master plan, with the technical science departments that respectively relate with the industrial zone. The university thus becomes the centre of urban organisation where the social sciences' departments merges with community while the technical departments extend to interface with the local industrial domain in the form of practical university workshops based upon theoretical knowledge of various departments yet meeting the requirements of industry with its various fields of specialisation.

A series of rectangular shaped forms representing the educational class room spaces form links between the context and the central valley each oriented in different directions marking our contemporary belief that science is non-deterministic as opposed to the classical Newtonian worldview.

A central atrium is defined between classroom blocks, each representing a particular concept, or phenomenon, relevant to the fields of the enclosing departments; on the sciences side, the concepts of ‘matter’, ‘force’, and ‘energy’ are manifested, while on the social sciences side interdisciplinary concepts among major social science discipline are manifested. The computer lab – our contemporary hub for information exchange – represents the heart of each atrium space from which geometrical order is generated manifesting the identified scientific or social concepts.
