The Pride is now in its nineteenth year as an independent student newspaper. Published twice a month on Tuesdays during the academic year, The Pride distributes approximately 1,500 free copies at over 12 distribution sites across the California State University San Marcos campus. The Pride dedicates itself to the education and the enlightenment of students and the campus community. The news section updates the CSUSM community of campus, local, and national news from an objective and truthful point of view, representing every available aspect of an issue or story. The features section informs and entertains the campus community with various topics and articles pertinent to college life and beyond. The Opinions section, which shares space with the features section, creates a forum for debate, targeted to each individual student that makes up a diverse CSUSM campus. The sports section updates students and faculty on not only the constantly growing CSUSM athletic department but also national and local sports. The arts and entertainment section enlightens the campus community with the latest information about arts and various entertainment events. We challenge the institution, administration, faculty and student population, to think carefully about controversial issues. We are dedicated to representing every diverse student voice.
