Pickleball for Beginners

Come have fun and get some exercise learning the fastest growing sport in America, a great game with a strange name – pickleball. You’ll learn the basic shots of pickleball in gamelike scenarios as well as how to keep score and move on the court. Graduates of the class will be able to mix in and have fun playing doubles with other social/recreational players. If possible, register with a partner with whom you want to learn the game. Registrants must have good balance, foot agility, and eye-hand coordination. Eye protection is recommended but optional. Students will receive e-mailed documents and links to videos as supplemental resources for the class.

PTball (Progressive Tennis)

Using low compression tennis balls and short rackets, PTball combines elements of tennis and pickleball. It’s tennis on a small court. This sport is fun, easy to learn, fast paced and a great workout! All skill levels are welcome. Instruction and equipment are provided.

Softball League (55+)

Still want to play some softball but don’t want to play at night? Come join the 55+ league at Saratoga. The league will be individual player signup and teams will be formed. We will follow USA Rules (except for our special rules), USA Bats and will use the following ball: Yellow, Dudley Thunder Heat Ball (.300/52). Depending on the number of participants we will either field 10 or 11 players. Teams will play two games per week, same day. We are looking for individuals willing to manage a team. Senior Strength: Total Body Workout

Join us for an energetic class with an emphasis on movement. Participant will experience different moderate impact work outs on a weekly basis utilizing the whole gym. Senior Fit and Function

Experience an unforgettable and inspirational workout that will improve your strength, balance, stability, core, flexibility, agility, and endurance! With the assistance of a chair, if needed, participants will experience a workout that will keep you moving all class long. This is a moderate impact workout (that does not involve floor work) with an emphasis on repetition. Different exercise styles and equipment will be used (weights and band) that will challenge your muscles in different ways and keep you motivated all session long. Participants should bring a water bottle to class.

Basic Functional Fitness (BFF)

This is a low impact workout that does not involve floor work and encourages the use of chairs. Senior Stretch & Yoga

In this class participants will feel rejuvenated, while working on controlled breathing and poses. Yoga has been known to help reduce stress, fatigue and pain with the added benefit of increasing core strength and balance. Gentle Chair-Only Yoga

Chair yoga helps stretch and stabilize the body in a gentle way, while seated in a chair or standing with the support of a chair. Class will include a moment to center in and arrive, warm ups, gentle movement for stretching and moving the body, and a resting pose at the end of practice. Modifications will be given, as this session is body-kind and gentle. American Mah Jongg Class

Mah Jongg is a tile game that involves skill, strategy, calculation, and chance (similar to the card game Rummy). No Mah Jongg experience or knowledge is required, and a practice Mah Jongg set will be provided for the duration of this class. Students will learn the basic moves and tiles will be explained and shown in detail. Practice games will take you stepby-step through the opening moves, the middle strategies, combinations, and the end game.
