Baseball, Softball, T-Ball Youth Leagues

WPRF Baseball, Softball & T-Ball leagues promote skill development, teamwork, good sportsmanship, equal participation & fun! Registration includes team shirt and hat. All teams practice at local parks. Teams are coached by volunteers. Game time will be between 5:15-7:30 pm.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: APRIL 14, 2023

What you need to know…

1. Teams are organized by practice location. Participants should be registered for the grade level they are in during the

CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR (22/23).

2. Wisconsin State Law requires a Parent or Guardian to sign a Concussion Information & Release Form prior to your child playing ball. Concussion form will be signed online when signing up online otherwise will need to be signed in person. 3. Teams are coached by a volunteer coach or co-coaches. If you are interested in volunteering to help with your child’s team, please indicate your interest when registering. A training session will be held, and all volunteers must attend.

All lead volunteers will be subject to Background Checks prior to the season. Volunteers, please fill out a Volunteer

Background Check Form when signing up your child, found at www.waukesha-wi.gov. 4. Please indicate participant’s shirt size on registration form: YS = youth small (6-8), YM = youth medium (10-12), YL = youth large (14-16), AS = adult small, AM = adult medium, AL = adult large, AXL = adult extra large. Any registrations after registration deadline shirt sizes are not guaranteed.

5. Waiting list will be created when a league is full. Players missing the registration deadline will be offered the opportunity to register on a team with an open spot. No special requests granted.

6. Required equipment: Glove and Batting helmet

Recommended equipment: Cleats (No Metal) 7. Make up games will be made up on practice night during the season.

4K-K T-Ball Co-Ed

T-Ball is a non-competitive program focused on fun, fitness, and fundamentals of basic baseball and softball.

Stories Alive

Mondays @ 10:00 AM February 6-March 27 Stories come alive in this fun and active drop-in storytime for children of all ages. Children will be encouraged to use their imaginations through the use of puppets, songs, fingerplays, and a variety of creative activities.

Baby & Toddler Storytime & Playgroup

Fridays @ 10:00 AM February 10-March 31 Infants, toddlers, and their caregivers are invited to join us for stories, music, fingerplays, and other fun activities that help foster a love of reading. Storytime is followed by playgroup – an informal gathering for families. Simply drop in and enjoy a room filled with toys, puzzles, music, and (of course!) books.

The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training class, designed for today’s 11-14 year olds, features an exciting activity-based format. Lifeguarding

If you’re 15 years or older and looking for a great summer job or challenging career, the American Red Cross Lifeguarding program is the place to start. Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you will learn patron rescue and surveillance skills, first aid and CPR/AED. Our program will focus on a variety of environments including pools and shallow water attractions. Pre-requisites: Students must be 15 years of age by the last day of the class, complete a 300-yard continuous swim, tread water for two minutes just using their legs and retrieve a 10-pound brick from a depth of 10 feet and swim 20 yards with both hands on the brick.

Must attend all classes for the entire session (all dates listed below).

• Participation does not guarantee certification. • Written requests for refunds will only be accepted prior to 1st day of class. •Bring a suit, towel, sweats, water, swim goggles, highlighter and pen.

Lifeguard instruction is free to all participants who are interested in working with Waukesha Parks, Recreation and Forestry during Summer 2023.

Candidates who are not interested in employment with WPRF will be charged $200 for instruction.

Leaders in Training Program (LIT)

Teens who are entering grades 6-10 for the 2022-2023 school year may apply to become a fully trained volunteer for the summer Playgrounds Program. This prestigious and elevated position is an excellent resume and college application builder. Leaders in Training will receive intense leadership training, character-building education, first-hand experience of program planning and leading groups, professional development training, participation in Playground Leader staff meetings and more! Leaders in Training will commit to an average of 12 service hours per week at one of the 2023 summer playground sites TBD. Hours of volunteer are M-F between 12:00 pm-5:00 pm from 6/26-8/11 (at selected sites). Morning hours available at selected sites TBD. Please note that space is limited and not all Leaders in Training will receive their first choice.

Peaceful and invigorating, Recreational Tree Climbing utilizes professional climbing gear, which allows climbers to ascend into and explore trees safely. Gain new appreciation for trees, nature, and your City Parks. Recreational Tree Climbing is a unique activity that can be enjoyed by an individual, in small groups, and is especially rewarding to families. All gear and instruction are provided. Sponsored By: The Park Foundation of Waukesha, Inc. Bring warmth, light and laughter to our winter night at the Glow Wild Walk. In the spirit of the theme, participants are encouraged to bring recorded or animal callers to the event – everyone making a sound as they pass the call of the wild station on the trail will receive a surprise. Each participant will receive a glow stick flashlight to brighten up the night and walk the 1.7-mile trail in Frame Park.
