Youth Development Summer Day Camp Opportunities

Grab your sunscreen and lace up your tennis shoes because your summer fun will begin at one of the City of Waukesha’s great parks! Day campers will enjoy crafts, games, making new friends and trying new activities! This is an outdoor camp, operating Monday-Friday from 7:30 am-5:30 pm. During inclement weather we will utilize a park shelter/open air shelter. Participants must bring a healthy non-perishable lunch and 2 healthy snacks each day. All registration must be completed by noon on the Friday prior to the start of the session. Weekly Field Trips/Events (including pool days) will be INCLUDED IN TUITION for Summer Explorers Full Day programs. The schedule will be posted on the weekly calendar handed out each Monday. Permission slips will be available at each site. We will offer a pre-recorded Summer Youth Development parent training video that will be emailed to participants and posted on our website in late May 2023. Summer Explorers ages 6-12 years (must be age 6 by 6/12/23, no exceptions)

Homeschool/Virtual School Physical Education and Art

Age as of September 1, 2022 Art – Elements 101: Explore the elements of art through different mediums and techniques. We will be diving into color, shape, line, texture, value, space, and form. Physical Education: In this program, participants will increase core stabilization, flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular fitness. They will also learn skills, rules, and game strategies in several sports and activities with an emphasis on self improvement and teamwork.

Join us for fun songs, games, crafts, snack and much more during our Spring-tacular Fun! See the themes below. Join us for a WPRF Heartful Valentine’s Day Party. Kids will join us for games, songs, crafts, and a valentine card exchange. Participants will decorate a cookie, make a Valentine’s Day mailbox and Valentine’s Day cards to share with other participants. NEW! Sprinkle Magic Dance Class

Join us for this 6-week Princess/Prince themed dance class. Learn the fundamentals of beginner dance to magical songs. Participants will learn dance technique, dance terminology, and a short dance routine. Please dress for dance activity, tennis shoes and flexible yet snug clothing. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite Princess/Prince attire. Water bottle is encouraged.

Magical March

Prepare For Summer Swim Lessons Swim Pre-Test

New to the swim instruction program? Don’t remember what lessons to sign up? A Swim Pretest is an opportunity for: • One-on-one skill screening • Level placement Please call the Parks & Recreation office 262-524-3737, 8:00 am-4:30 pm, M-F, to have your name placed on the list for the pre-test. Participants are taken on a first come, first served basis; however, if we have an idea of how many will be in attendance, staff can be scheduled accordingly to serve you better. Staff will not be able to process registrations at the pre-test.

Join us for this 6-week cheerleading skills class. Learn the fundamentals of cheerleading, arm motions, stretching and flexibility, jumps, beginner dance and conditioning.
