South Molton was awarded gold, won the Ayre Cup and its overall category, and the community gardens were cited as ‘outstanding’ in the ‘Its Your Neighbourhood’ section of the RHS supported awards.

At the presentation ceremony at the Winter Gardens Pavilion in Weston super Mare on October 7th, judge Richard Taylor said there were many “high class” projects.

He said, “It was a fantastic & well deserved award. The valiant, united and ambitious group fed off Sue Harrison’s dynamic & diligent leadership. They worked well with the local council and businesses.”

Fundraising and planning is already underway for South Molton’s 2022 entry, with a quiz (opposite) and a stall at South Molton Pannier Market on November 11th.
